AlexMR if full stacked and raises to £0.80 UTG

I called w UTG+1

TAG calls OTB and a donk calls on BB.

Flop is

Pot is £3.40 AlexMr bets £1.20.

My thoughts :

OMFG he hit it ! ( Frankly Its was almost a certain he had hit it )
But wtf, there are only 2 aces remaining, KJ ? He likes to play some borderline hands UTG doesn't he ?, but for a 4BB raise ? ....He hit it ... I'm so fucking unlucky. At least I'm playing short.

Wait, there is a jackpot ! 10k I guess. Do they pay it at these low limits tables ? Oh shit I don't know ! So many things I don't know... FU Socrates .... FU ! What should I do now ?





How would you play it deep stacked ? Would you trust on your read and make a gutsy fold somewhere in the hand? Just calling ? How far should a ppl trust on reads like these ?

Why is everyone saying call down postflop? I LOVE the flop and will be looking to slow play and get it all in by the river..

OK first off AlexMR raising UTG would usually indicate come strength - if you are short -meaning 20BB's or so in stack - then at least 1/2 of the time I would just push pre-flop IMHO.

If you do flat call - maybe hoping for LP squeezers etc. then this is an interesting flop.

A single jack is just within his range (whilst techically it's quads, it's quads in the same way that you can have trips on paired board rather than a set - it's not to be entirely discounted), but his range for that sort of probe bet is very wide. He could have any pair or missed AK, AQ etc. I don't think Alexmr (read a straightforward TAG) would usually open UTG with any hand with a jack in it except AJ or perhaps QJs or JTs (most TAGS wouldn't) and AJ isn't super likely as you have 2 of the aces.

I often note what a weak-lead on the flop means from villains.

Here though I think you have to take the view that if he has a J so be it and work out how bect to get the rest of your short stack in.

If he has missed Ax he isn't going to get his money in unless the x or the case A hits turn or river. If he has a pair and he puts you on overs or an under pair he may also let you get your stack in.

One of the benefits of playing short is that it is much easier to get your stack in if you choose to make that decision. You can usually get in even in unraised pots fairly easily if your opponent has medium strenght hand with 2-3 streets of betting under pot. In rasied pots it usually just takes one street of betting to get pot-comitted on both sides.

Here is the driest board imaginable - there simply aren't any draws. I would just falt call his probe bet and see what he does on the turn. I would avoid raising if possible as that looks more like a J. If checked to on the turn there is alreay £5.80 in the pot. If I was a 20BB shorty at the outset that leaves me with only £2 left anyway.
I know Alex is WT but he isn't going to get away from 2x£1 bets there if he has any pair at all is he?

99% of the time he did not flop quads. Sheesh.

If he did flop quads, you could not tell it from one tiny bet like that. You do not have a "read" stating that AlexMr will bet 1/3 of the pot when he flops quads. I'm sorry, you just don't.

I think he's on KK-QQ or AK like 90% of the time here. I'm playing AA on this flop for a full 100 BBs or 200BBs and probably 300 BBs (although I don't have much experience that deep) without a second thought.
