I went to a home game tonight...its a bi-weekly tourney with $20 buyin. Mostly guys from where I used to work. I go every once in a while (I've gone 4 times this year I think, 3 since I've gone pro). In those last 3 times, I've won twice and got second once. Usually it is top 2 pay.

So now I feel kinda bad that I am taking all their monies. My old boss always wants me to come but I don't want to be looked at as a "shark". Although tonight I got lucky when I won allin preflop with my JJ vs villain's QQ. If I lost that hand I would have been out in 4th or 5th, and before the money. Meh...

Anyone else have experience in playing in home games where you are the best player by 10 miles?

when i was working in AZ there was a weekly $10 buy with rebuys for the first hour. everyone else was always in for like $20-$50 and i never bought in for more than $10 in the 6 times i played. never finished out of the $ or worst than 2nd

I saw you back grinding at Ongame 400 yesterday. Going ok ? Had one of those crazy swingy evenings myself, up 1 buyin, down a buyin every 5 minutes (you know the type)

Not THAT bad. But nobody knows what they are doing really. One guy plays online occasionally, so he knows how to be aggressive. He might be a winner at NL25 or something. The rest are uber donks. Chasing gutshots to the river on paired boards, trying to raise my 1000 bet to 1500, making bets without knowing if they are bluffing or value betting, etc. I doubt if any of them understand any of the basics of tournament strategy either, so I own them during the endgame.

Lagging it up might be my next strategy. I'll have to see if I have a Laggy bone in my body somewhere...lol

Meh. Been lazy this month. Somehow I have only played 15K hands. I am up about $5k though, not including bonii/RB.

I really need to pound out another 25K hands and finish the month strong. I think I am playing pretty well I just need to play more. My game and luck has really come around the last few months but I have been running bad at higher stakes which hurt my monthly take. For example, I am down over $4K at NL600 at Ongame in my last 4200 hands (2.5 months) even though I am a bigger winner lifetime in that game than NL400 (although a much smaller sample at 600). Now that I am sticking to NL200 and NL400 there is no reason not to be making $10k+ a month.

That's the spirit.

BTW It's worthwhile checking out the ssnl and msnl 2+2 S/N threads to see what other regs are saying about you and each other.
