I'm still interested in thoughts of other players on geiststaat's hand

i have a super passiv AK hand here

My thoughts on the flop: his bet looks so super weak, I put him either on a weaker ace or 2 pairs+... so can one argue to not raise here and maybe get more value from Ax on turn? If no... why is raising better on the flop?

villain is 45/3/0.8 after 30 hands

Poker Room skin
Pot Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.50/$0.50
5 players

Stack sizes:
UTG: $32.35
CO: $75.60
Hero: $42.40
SB: $19.35
BB: $37.85

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is Button with [Ad] [Ks]
UTG calls, CO folds, Hero raises to $2.5, SB folds, BB calls, UTG folds.

Flop: [Ac] [Qh] [6s] ($6, 2 players)
BB bets $2.5, Hero calls.

Turn: [2c] ($11, 2 players)
BB bets $10, Hero calls.

River: [8s] ($31, 2 players)
BB bets $15, Hero calls.

Results:
Final pot: $61

on geistaats hand.. unfortunatelly, I can't comments since I don't remember being in similar situation like this one with an unknown... however, I remember holding KT on a KT2 flop when Villain held TT...

as for your passive hand Joss, well, you know I would raise flop because the bet is weak and Villain will show himself here...On the other hand, your line does get more from weaker aces without risking much... Still, I'd raise flop...

Jossnaz I would raise the flop and then what I do after that really depends on the turn.

Geistaat that is one screwed up spot, if you really can put all AA and whatever you said in his range then it becomes much easier. If you can't and it' just against some donky unknown guy I really have no idea what to do.
The better player should win the race. Always.

btw in the passiv AK hand villain showed [9c][Th]

Well I was doing something fancy there by not raising and was lucky for once. But raising the flop is def. the way to go, especially when villain shows more passiv than aggressiv stats.

Blocking bet Question.

Table is loose pre...2 guys with over 50 vpip...so, I was just a TAD tight--12/8/2. Villain after 72 hands is 24/18/9.5.

Villain has $31.50 and I cover.

UTG Limps
I raise to $1.25 from MP with [Kc][Kd]
Villain calls on button.
UTG folds

FLOP [5s][Tc][3c]

I bet $2.50, villain calls

TURN [8s]

I bet $6.00, villain calls

RIVER [Ah]

He didn't call quickly on either street, but I can't see him not raising the turn if he's ahead. As tight as I've been playing, I don't think he's calling down with a TP-type hand after I've shown strength preflop->turn. So, I put him obv on a flush draw, and I'm not liking that river. I think I should b/f here since he doesn't have to have the nut draw--ok? bet size?

If you're putting him on a flush draw then check/call is the best line imo because player with that aggression factor will most likely bet his missed draw while he might fold to your river bet. You're inducing him to bet here also because of the ace that he can but doesn't have to have. If you bet, you pretty much have to fold to a raise I think and that opens you up for bluff trigger happy players, and also, his AF suggest that he might bluff here if you bet since he called 2 streets.

So, to summarize... i would check because it induces a bluff from a missed draw while you can't really be bluffed of your hand since you'll be last to act after he bets so by calling you're getting your value and also lowering the possible damage if he sucked out the A..

That's of course if you're pretty confident he might be on a draw here... I agree that it looks that way, but his AF suggest he might raise somewhere, and thus I even more think that by not raising the turn he will def. bet river...

PSB is just a little less than his stack...so, I guess it'd be hard to fold if he shoves over my bet anyway.

I don't give too many at 25 credit for "thinking" that far, but since I've moved up to 50 (and hope to not stay there too long) I need to take these things more into consideration.

Thx Red.

I think I overthink and end up with ass-backwards thinking sometimes.

Next hand though. Still noobish in 3bet pots, so here's one I figure is fairly standard....Line check? (3bet size too small, missed that I was oop) Villain is 18/13/1 after 100 hands w/30% att to steal. AF looks small, but I've seen him make some plays. He also called down weak bets w/JJ IP on a KKQxx board. Previous pots he played overpairs aggro on the flop.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (5 handed) Converter Tool from (Format: Bet The Pot)

saw flop|saw showdown

UTG ($58.85)
MP ($50)
Button ($97.35)
Hero ($57.30)
BB ($19.10)

Preflop: Hero is SB with [As], [Qh].
2 folds, Button raises to $2, Hero raises to $6, 1 fold, Button calls $4.

Flop: ($12.50) [6d], [Qs], [Th] (2 players)
Hero bets $8.5, Button calls $8.50.

Turn: ($29.50) [7s] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $20, Hero raises to $42.8

Final Pot: $69.50

I figured if he was trapping with AA/KK pre he'd raise the flop. With the draw out should I have just fired the turn? I checked to make it look like a whiffed AK, so he could make a play.
