Hi all,
Yesterday I finished 4th in a pokerstars $11 rebuy taking 1.6k. I was still not happy because I got busted with the best hand but I felt great about my play and after a short night sleep I can be very cheerful about last nights tournament.
In 5 and an a half hours of play my biggest pockets were tens. No faced pockets all evening. Now I am wondering maybe this was one of the things for me to end so high. But then again the day before I finished 3rd in a $20 pot limit and I had a very high ratio of bullets and cowboys.
I made some good bluffs and got respect from other stacks and had some cheap draws that made me big pots.
I also had a very lucky hand were someone is looking like he was stealing my blinds and miniraised. I miniraised him back with KQ off and he took a while and then folded. I thought I made him think I had AA or close to hit and made him fold but he actually asked me later what he had because he had AA and timed out thinking what he should raise me…funny..i’ll say.
I saw many AA and KK got busted and so I was thinking it is not so bad if you don’t get them because they are so hard to lay down. ( for me that is ).
As I was progressing towards the money I did not play much because those big PP’s were bound to come soon, The money got bigger and the PP ’s still did not come.
Earlier that night I played a $50 NL for 2 minutes. I got AA I raise 350 ( 1500 start ) get one caller .
Flop 9 10 9 I decide to go and if this moron has a 9 so be it.
Well he had 10’s in the hole making me the moron.
The point I am trying to make I guess is that the big PP’s are not always the cards you need to win a tournament but they will often loose you the tournament.
