1/2 NL HU. Villain bought in for $101.35 but appears to be pretty competant. He now has $105.

I raise to $7 with [3c] and he calls.

Pot $14. Flop [2c][5d]. He leads $8. This is the 1st time hes led into me after calling a raise. I raise to 430 and he calls.

Pot $74. Turn . He checks. Push or check behind? He obviously likes his hand and I dont think that 5 is going to change anything.

?? You raise to 430? Or is this supposed to be 30? I would check behind if you still have any chips left. At best he has the second nut flush but more likely it is 66-AA. Get him on the river. Unless he has the 66. Then your just screwed.

I think the only real option is to check behind. He's calling a push, especially if your read is that he likes his hand (and his actions definitely point to that).

Now, what if he checks on a blank river card? Do you push then?

True, a CR is a more powerful play, usually indicating more strength--and a set would more than likely go with check-call if he's any good (which certainly isn't a given).

Anyhow, if my assessment is accurate of around 50% equity vs. those hands that he's likely to call a push with, then the more fold equity you have the better. I do think specifically A5, A2, 33, 44 and of course something like AJ (if that's in his range) fold even though they have odds to call, and A5 and A2 are a little ahead of you--not sure about AJ, 33 and 44. I'm guessing they're a bit behind but not much.
