Another very strange day. Ended up $1K in 2200 hands.

I got runner runnered 4 times. 56 < AJ on a K55TQ board. Had to fold 88 on a 8AQAQ board. Flopped nut flush lost to 37 on a xx337 board. Got allin on J high flop with TT against 99, lost to runner runner flush. Luckily none were for full stacks.

Some good hands:

#1. This bluff worked! I almost raised flop but I wouldn't always play a K like that so I flatted the flop. Villain in this hand gets owned by me regularly, so I think he's starting to tighten up his calling ranges against me .

Stacks:
Hero ($451.40)
BTN ($408.50)
SB ($498.60)
BB ($854.85)

Pre-flop: ($6, 4 players) Hero is CO [Ad][Td]
Hero bets $15, 1 fold, SB bets $43, 1 fold, Hero calls $30.

Flop: [Kc][Kd][3d] ($94, 2 players)
SB bets $55, Hero calls $55.

Turn: [6s] ($204, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $120, SB calls $120.

River: [4c] ($444, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero goes all-in $231.40, SB folds

Final Pot: $675.40
Hero shows: [Ad][Td]

Hero wins $673.4 ( won +$222 )
SB lost -$220.00

#2. This one is just funny. Messed it up though...should have shoved flop.

Stacks:
UTG ($610.60)
CO ($194.00)
Hero ($394.00)
SB ($136.00)
BB ($116.00)

Pre-flop: ($6, 5 players) Hero is BTN [Kd][Jd]
2 folds, Hero bets $15, SB calls $13, BB calls $11.

Flop: [3c][7d][2d] ($45, 3 players)
SB bets $10, BB calls $10, Hero bets $50, SB calls $40, BB calls $40.

Turn: [4d] ($195, 3 players)
SB checks, BB goes all-in $51, Hero bets $102, SB goes all-in $71

River: [5d] ($419, 3 players)

Final Pot: $419
SB shows: [Ks][Ac]
BB shows: [3h][Td]
Hero shows: [Kd][Jd]

Hero wins $416 ( won +$249 )
SB lost -$136.00
BB lost -$116.00

#3. I almost never call a 3-bet OOP with a hand like this. ViIlain had been 3-betting me liberally so I decided to take a flop this time because of implied odds. In retrospect I think this is still a losing play (preflop). I hit the flop hard enough that I have no choice but to go with it.

Stacks:
UTG ($410.10)
Hero ($684.85)
BTN ($661.50)
SB ($383.30)
BB ($409.30)

Pre-flop: ($6, 5 players) Hero is CO [5c][6c]
1 fold, Hero bets $15, BTN bets $45, 2 folds, Hero calls $30.

Flop: [9c][Qc][8h] ($96, 2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $70, Hero bets $225, BTN goes all-in $546.50, Hero calls $391.50.

Turn: [Tc] ($1329, 2 players)

River: [8s] ($1329, 2 players)

Final Pot: $1329
Hero shows: [5c][6c]
BTN shows: [As][Ac]

Hero wins $1326 ( won +$664.5 )
BTN lost -$661.50

Alrighty...started playing more 3-bet or fold from the blinds. I normally run 20/15ish, as I have gradually evelved as a player from my previous 27/13 style. Today I was 19.5/17. I didn't get a lot of hands in the blinds so I didn't 3-bet much more than normal.

Down $1050. Ran really bad. Saw 33.7% of showdowns (which is super huge for me) and won 42%.

Some hands:
1. I raise to $15, BB (30/24 guy) reraises to $60. I 4-bet to $155 with AK, he shoves, I call and he has KK and spikes the case K to top it all off.

2. EP limper ($320 stack), I raise to $20 with AA, he calls. Flop is [6c][7c][9h]. He donks $15, I raise to 60, he repops to 125, I shove, he calls with 98o, hits 8 on river.

3. Tight EP raises to $15, I repop in pos with QQ. Donk BB shoves for $300, I call. He has 88. 8 on river.

4. I reraise KK, flop comes A high and checks through. Turn is a Q. I call a small turn and river bet. Villain has QQ.

5. I get it all in with a short stack with [Ad][9d] against his 66 after he min raised on a [Qd][8d]7 board. I am a favorite, but miss. A few hands later we get in the same spot (he min raises flop, I shove), I have an overpair with JJ, he has KK this time, so he doubles through me twice then leaves.

A couple other smaller pots I got runner runnered in. I also got 2 outed in smallish pots a couple of times.

Biggest pot I won was against Electrolux.

Stacks:
CO ($68.30)
Hero ($440.55)
SB ($269.30)
BB ($388.00)

Pre-flop: ($6, 4 players) Hero is BTN [Jh][Ah]
CO calls $4, Hero bets $20, 1 fold, BB bets $52, CO folds, Hero calls $36.

Flop: [7h][5c][Qh] ($118, 2 players)
BB bets $95, Hero goes all-in $384.55, BB goes all-in $237

Turn: [Jc] ($834.55, 2 players)

River: [7c] ($834.55, 2 players)

Final Pot: $834.55
Hero shows: [Jh][Ah]
BB shows: [Th][Ts]

Hero wins $832.55 ( won +$392 )
BB lost -$388.00
CO lost -$4.00

He makes a nice call here (this time anyway) to take the coin flip. I'm not sure this is a winning call long run against me though. What range does a good reg put me on here?

U have AQ, AA, KK, 77, 55, 64h, 68h, or the nut flush draw here like almost always, his call is very -EV.

yeah it is a bad call, but not horrible, I think.

I think Hero has the nut flush draw here a lot of the time. But then a call is +EV, even if it is a combo draw, with the dead money in there. It is 237 more to call in a 545 pot. So I need like 30% equity?

Actually I was pretty sure you were on the FD when you pushed, and had that as a large part of your range.

I didn't do the math on the spot of course, but went with my quick gut feeling.

Pokerstove gives this result:
Heros Range QQ+, 77, 55, AhKh, AhJh, 8h6h, 6h4h, AQo, my equity is only 15%
If I add in all AK (as a bluff) I have the 30% equity.

Well today went pretty well. Got into some preflop pissing contests which was fun but HIGH variance.

Villain 1 (28/17): I raised KK, he repopped and I shoved. I rarely shove preflop but I just felt like it this time. He folded. Right after that, I raised AK, he repopped again. I shoved. Of course this time he snap calls with AA.

Villain 2 (22/19): At another table about 1 minute after the stuff above happened I raise AQ on the button. He repops, I 4-bet to $135. He thinks and shoves. I rarely/never 4-bet AQ, so I'm not to happy about this shove, but I call. Villain has 99, I lose. Shortly after, I raise QQ in the CO. He 3-bets from button, I 4-bet again. He shoves, I snap call, he shows AK this time. He spikes a K on the flop but I spike my Q on the turn.

One big hand. Villain is villain #2 above, this hand happened in between the 2 AI preflop hands:

$2/$4 No Limit Holdem
5 players
Converted at

Stacks:
UTG ($71.05)
CO ($448.00)
BTN ($576.60)
Hero ($486.00)
BB ($634.10)

Pre-flop: ($6, 5 players) Hero is SB [Jc][Qs]
3 folds, Hero bets $12, BB calls $10.

Flop: [Qh][Qc][7h] ($28, 2 players)
Hero bets $20, BB bets $45, Hero calls $25.

I thought of 4-betting but I decided to play this slow (knowing a flush draw was most of his range) because shortly before this I flopped a set and he raised my CB, I shoved and he folded. I figure its time to change it up.

Turn: [Td] ($118, 2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $75, Hero calls $75.

Could definately have raised here, but didn't. I plan on check-calling any non heart river.

River: [Jh] ($268, 2 players)
Hero goes all-in $352, BB calls $352.

Gin card, time to drop the hammer.

Final Pot: $972
Hero shows: [Jc][Qs]
BB shows: [5h][8h]

I couldnt stop myself from you AK's odds question (bored at work I know). I just realized that the odds of getting AKs is smaller than AA  . Either my brain has taken the day off or I have played poker for 3 years without realizing this before (which makes me stupid anyway).

Since AKs only exists in 4 combos in the deck (but AA as 12 combos) the chance of NOT getting AKs in a specific hand is (2652-4)/2652, thus the odds of NOT getting AKs in 3000 hands should be the same to the power of 3000 = 1%. So only 1 out of 100 of 3000 hand sessions will you not see AKs once.

There are 8 combos of AKs. (AhKh, KhAh, etc)

So assuming your methodology is correct I get an answer of 0.0116%. So a 1 in 10,000 shot. So if I play 3000 hands a day 250 days a year, this should happen once every 40 years or so. I'll probably be dead by then

I was dealt KK 3 times in a row at the wynn a few months ago. I figured out it was like a 11 million- to- one shot. They all held too!
