Check out this genius.....

He raises $6 and I call with [Ts].

Pot $12. Flop [8d][8h]. He bets $10. I min raise to $20. He cant possibly call w/o and ace or 8 right? He calls.

Pot $52. Turn . He now instabets $40 and leaves himself with $19.

When he called my min raise I was going to give up obviously. The king on the turn doesnt do my much good but why would he instabet $40? Thats seems so strange. People dont do that with a big hand just like they dont lead with sets. They want you to bet so they can check raise and get more money from you.

I dont know how he can call my flop raise with nothing but his actions seem to out of place for me to believe him and I shove in. He calls with [6c] and misses.

I know this is a thinly veiled brag of a stone cold read.....but what in gods name is he doing calling the flop raise? Does anyone think this guy is smart enough to make it across the street without getting run over?

The flop min raise obv isnt going to work against guys too stupid to know what beats what I guess.

I think this works best when the opponent is aggro and bets pot or close to pot on the flop. Otherwise I prefer a larger raise, 2.5x or 3x.
