AK Preflop ($100NL)

I'm mixing it up and playing a little Bodog.

I've had a decent run of cards and have raised 3 of the last 5 hands.

Villain is full stacked and typical Bodog Donko 38/9/2 type.

I raise A[h] K[h] to x4BB from UTG. Villain reraises from LP to $10.

I push. We have full stacks.

For what its worth,

I think based on your recent history of raising, he is probably trying to take control of the action. And so you are probably pretty good against his range of hands he's doing this with. But if he calls, you can expect results that will have a lot of variance because he's probably gonna call you with 99- AA, AQ-AK.

But my question is why so much? Cant you effectively achieve the same result w/ a reraise to 50?

i think a std. repop with the intent of getting it all-in is fine...dont HATE the flat push either tho.

This is not my standard play as I usually don't felt AK preflop.

However, I have to give Xaston some props here because I remember one of his posts where he wrote how people will play back at you with much less when then perceive you as too loose.

Since I had been raising like mad, I decided to push assuming the Xaston Principle.

He instacalled my push with K[s] J[d] and I scooped with A high.

he is UTG vs LP 3 better - may as well get in all in pre-flop than have half your stack in there OOP

I agree that we may have the best hand most of the time here but are we gaining more by making him fold or are we gaining more by him calling and losing whatever perecentage of the time we are head?
