Stack sizes? In this hand, effective stacks are 90BBs. In mine they are 72 BBs. Not very different. The concept still applies. They will call a CRAI when they are beat and beaten badly.
He bet almost full pot on the turn. What am I going to do with my QT? Call him down? Id I call the turn and check the river, anyone who is stupid enough to call my CRAI will also push the river if I try to call down, but if I check call the turn, almost every sane person would tell me to check / fold the river because "what can I beat? if he fires again" That would be the responses.
I realize that my line isnt the standard line but you guys should open your minds and try it. Im not making this stuff up. It works.
Why does it matter that theres not a pair hand he can have? The point is that he called my flop bet with his middle pair hoping that he was ahead and that I would check the turn. I checked it so he had to take it away before I caught up with my AK so he bets. He can have something like 88, T9, nothing, or any number of other hands here. I CRAI and dont expect him to call very often. I dont care if he folds his 88 or his T9. I dont cars if he folds when hes beaten because it will stop him from trying to float me later. If I bet the turn most people will fold 88 or T9 because they assume I have an overpair and they give up.
