I would normally raise this obvious blocking / donk bet no matter what I had, not based on my hand but based on a pretty sure guess that he doesnt have much so Im playing his cards not mine.
But this time since I have the deck crippled I decided to just call although I do like a min raise here. Sure i can make a decent sized raise but i figure if he has a real hand i can get him all in on the river anyway (or close to it depending on his river bet) and if he has as little as i think he does, hes not going to calla raise but might bluff again on the river since by just calling I look pretty scared of the board. If I had something like TT an avg player might just call this bet and fold to a big river bet (I would raise with TT but he doesnt know that).
So I just called. The river was a 3 and he suddenly fired out $29 (full pot). Who bets $5.75 into a $17 pot and then bets full pot suddenly on the river? He either suddenly likes the river which is unlikely, or is bluffing.
I shoved all in and he called with 33. This is one time that my slow play really paid off.
