Fucking hell. This is absolutely ridiculous.
I played in a live game today. The game was half 5/10 PLHE and half 5/5 PLO. The table was so soft it was silly. I ran so bad it was silly.
I bought in for $1k. I lost a few small pots and was down to about $700. Harris was sitting 2 to my right (he's easily better than everyone else at the table except for me, I feel like I have a bit of an edge over him but he's a very good player). He opens to $35 in holdem. I flat OTB with AQo and it's folded after me. Flop is QT9 with 2 spades, he cbs, i raise, he shoves, i call, he has J8. Ok whatever. I rebuy for another $1k.
A few hands later someone in MP raises pot in omaha to like $35 and several of us call, I have [Ah[[8h][8d][9d] or something. The flop is
[8d][7c] and it checks to the CO who bets pot. I repot. Now UTG shoves (basically a call) and the CO calls/shoves, I stick my money in. UTG has 69Tx for a kinda wrap with no flush draw, CO has AQTx with 3 clubs in his hand. Turn is a 4r and the river is like a T giving UTG a straight. Whatever. Omaha is silly.
I have $600 left in my wallet so I buy-in for that. A while goes by, my stack dwindles to like $400. I raise in the CO with
[Kc][Qs][Tc] and the btn 3bets. BB cold-calls, UTG cold-calls. I 4-bet allin, everyone called. Ok, whatever. The flop is
[Js][4d]. UTG now fires out for $600 into a pot of $1600. The other two fold. He turns over AK77r. I miss all of my bazillion outs to scoop and we split. I double up, but still, meh.
I work my stack up to like $1.8k after some grinding and what not then this hand comes up. I get KKQTr and there are a few limpers to me. I pot it in LP and everybody calls, of course. The flop is
[6c][6s] and it gets checked around to me in the CO, I check, the BTN checks. The turn is the
and it checks to me again. I check. The BTN bets $200 into a pot of like $265 and it folds to me. I call. The river is the
. I check. He bets $100 . I raise to $500. He raises to $1,100. I think FOREVER and feel like I want to die and finally call. I really feel like this was a fold but getting almost 5:1 I figure he's got something like 899x or a bluff or K8 or something often enough to make the call not-horrible. But yeah of course he had quads.
My stack was again down to like $500. I fought it back up to like $800 and got 33 in the sb. There was a raise in MP and like 3 callers, I call. Flop is K93 with 2 diamonds. I bet 2/3 pot. Folds to the PFRer who repots. Folds to me and I shove for not much more. He calls with AK. Nice.
Soon enough after I get a decent chip stack again the following hand comes up. I get
[4h] in LP and it's folded to me. I raise pot and get like 3 callers. The flop is
[Qc][4c] and it's checked to me, I bet pot. One guy calls - the biggest chaser in our game. Turn is like the
or something. He checks, I bet 2/3 pot, he calls. River is another club and he bets, i fold. Meh.
There were other pots but I'm kinda tired. Long story short I lost $300 and am extremely happy. No online poker played today, probably gonna log some hours now
Poker is silly.
It is not enough to be good at chess, you must also play well.
Somewhere in the world someone is training when you are not. When you race him, he will win.
