Obviously when OOP an there are callers you are going to add BB to ur raise. Some do +1 BB per limper and another BB for being OOP. What about button raises?

Regardless if I am open raisiing with AA or J8s OTB I like to make my raise a bit smaller if I get 3-Bet its not as much to call. I find that 3BB does the job,

If i raise to $3, he re-pops to $9, Thats much better than $12 if I raised to $4. Does anybody else do this? I mean they cant determine what my hand is as they are all the same amount, its just all my BTN opens are smaller to adjust for when I have a SC and I want to call in position its cheaper with a greater implied odds as well.

It depends on the game. Generally speaking, below 5/10, players are making big enough pf errors that you can get away with making your standard raise. If you find a player who 3bets you a lot, I'd keep the normal pfr size and just adjust to what he's doing (the normal 4x is going to illicit bigger mistakes from him later in the hand, than the 3x). So, I tend to just keep my 4x. I like to keep my bets all the same, so only change the size of your btn open when you adjust all your opens (if you went to 3x, for example).

I use the BTP button on FT a lot (and get criticized for it a lot in my posts). Usually the only time I vary my BTN raise size is when there is a short stack in the blinds. In that case I'll raise it up to 3x instead of my usual 3.5x.

I think making your standard 3.5-4x raise should be fine when opening from the BTN simply because you WANT your opponents to be putting more money in OOP. You make the most money from LP anyway. I'm interested in hearing more thoughts on this concept.
