Had a good couple of days - haven't played especially well but got a few hands paid off by dorks

eg someone donates his stack when I raise 77 and he calls my raise with KJ, raises me on the K7x flop, commits himself with a turn bet and calls a shove... that sort of thing.

Back to using EyePoker table selection thing, as recommended by JJ, and it's working well.

We've just beaten Blackburn at home in a pretty tense game, putting us 5 points ahead of Utd with 12 games left.


I hate to jinx it but I can't help thinking...

We have to play Utd and Chelsea away, and 'Pool at home. We should get at last 3 points from those.

We have to play Villa and Everton at home. We should get at least 4 points from those.

That leaves 7 games:

Brum (A)
Wigan (A)
Boro (H)
Bolton (A)
Reading (H)
Derby (A)
Sunderland (A)

If we were to win all of those (which we can and should), we'd have 91 points and I think the title would be ours.

I am also inclined to think that Arsenal will win the title this year... I have mixed emotions about this since if Arsenal really wins the title I will be sad that Chelsea didn't win and I am not getting $$ of Stoneburg, but I will be very happy that ManU didn't win as I won't have to pay any $$$ to Stoney...

I know I'm just gonna hate myself for asking this, but as I am a noob (and not sure I want that status to change yet ) when it comes to soccer standings, wtf do the "D", "F", "A", "GD" columns mean? And how are points earned? I thought a goal was a point and thats how the games are decided but you make it sound as if they get points for something else.

Points make prizes...

Goals decide the result of a game, games earn points. 3 points for a win (W) (used to be 2 but teams <<cough>> Arsenal actually LOL became too defensive), 1 for a draw (D), 0 for a loss (L) obv.

F is goals scored (For), A is goals conceded (Against), GD is Goal Difference (F-A) and is only used to separate teams finishing with equal points.

This is the top of 4 divisions in the English League (aka Premiership). The other Euro countries have their own domestic leagues, run on similar lines eh La Lioga (Spain), Serie A/B etc (Italy), the Bundeslig (sp?) (Germany) etc. Despite not having technically the best teams, the Premiership is regarded as being the most exciting and is the most widely watched of all the domestic leagues - the recent Arsenal v Man Utd game attracted a TV audience of ~1 billion people worldwide.
