For comparison purposes : over my poker "career", I've played 64.5K hands of 3-6 limit, and have the following numbers.

BB/100: 1.87
BB/hour/table: 1.31
Actualy hourly rate: $23.07

And that includes a couple phases where I was playing rather...ahem...experimentally. Anyway, I'm gonna up my July goal to a solid 1.5 BB/hour, and thus an hourly rate of $27. Wish me luck, wanksters!

Another frustrating day, and July has utterly failed to get off to a good start. I played for 3 and a half hours before having to stop because I just couldn't fucking take it anymore. I was up about 200 halfway through, and then managed to lose what felt like every single fucking hand since then. Ran QQ into KK which is always a shitload of fun...had a flurry of AK-AJ's which continuously failed to hit the flop against 19 or so limpers, but of course some of the time I flopped a flush draw just to make sure I'd lose some more money. At one table was a guy playing every fucking hand, so of course he managed to crack my AA with J6o and my QQ with 54o. He also cracked my unimproved AK with 96o...of course you might say, "why the fuck were you even going to the river with AKo unimproved?" Well, maybe it's not usually a good idea, but my read was right and he put in plenty of bets with absolute shit before finally hitting a fucking 6 on the river to beat me.

I think I managed to make one fucking flush/straight draw in all the hands I played, but wow did I miss a lot of 'em. No one else at the table seemed to share this particular difficulty, as they continued to hit against my overpairs or top pairs (on the rare occasions that I actually managed to hit top pair). Really ugly, stupid, fucked up shit that I'm getting very tired of.

All told, I only lost about $90, which wouldn't bother me so fucking much if I hadn't been up $200 and playing very well.

Well, I'm ending the week a bit early and taking tomorrow off, in the hopes that this will prevent me from going completely fucking insane. Apparently, I should've just stopped playing halfway through the week when I was up to about 2500. Instead, I played some damned good poker for the last 3 days and lost $350, and thus after a necessary $600 cash-out, my bankroll will be taking a good-sized loss for the week. Just when I thought I was outta the fuckin woods, too.

Keep your chin up TW. I remember when you started posting. You worked or had just quit working at a gas station. I bet you didn't make $500 / week pumping gas. If you did, you probably had to work a hell of a lot more hours than your putting in at poker. You are actually an inspiration (in a sick kind of way) for many new players.

yeah no shit, I used to work at a gas station as well on the graveyard shift, measuring the god damn gas levels and sweeping up the lot and putting up with alot of god damn assholes like myself coming in drunk at 3am in the morning for about 250 a week. Folding QJsoooooooooooooted in any position, for any numbers of bets, and no matter what comes on the flop and turn...is EXTREMELY weak-tight. Though I'll accept that there are very, VERY rare situations in which it's best to be folded on the river.

Seriously though, thanks for the comments, BK and piers...just had a really frustrating stretch there, but I've felt really good about my play lately. Granted, I'll still acknowledge I have plenty of leaks to work out, but at least the leaks are a lot smaller than they used to be

Well, I had a sorta bitter-sweet day today, but definitely more sweet than it was bitter. I made a bit over $250 in 5 hours of play, which is a fine way to start the week. The thing is, after my first 3-hour session, I was up about $475; playing great and hitting a lotta cards...then one of my relatives called to have me run some errands, and when I got around to playing again later, things didn't go nearly as well. The cards weren't as kind, and my play was extremely sloppy. Bleh, there went almost half my gains.

I'm not trying to make excuses, because it's my own damn fault I didn't play well in my second session...BUT, it is starting to get on my nerves that everyone I know seems to have trouble grasping the idea that this is my job. Yeah, I can make my own hours, or take a day off whenever I want (which usually only winds up being about once a month, heh heh)...but it's still my job, and it really irked me to get interrupted in the middle of the best session I've had in several weeks. Ah well, what can ya do?

All told, I can't be too upset, because $257 is certainly a good way to start any week! Really hoping to hit the $1000 mark when all's said and done so that when I cash out a 5-spot on Sunday I'll still be above the 2K mark bankroll wise.
