So I finished 154th in the FTOPS this afternoon. 565 players.

I had one hand semi late that I should have gotten away from earlier, but I pretty much rode a series of nondescript hands to the point where I got all in with 865 clubs and ran into split kings as at 500/1k/100 and I had 2400.

The second to last hand in the second hour, I doubled up from 4400 to 8800. The very next hand I look down at qqa and end up showing it down and losing 2300 total.

I also took 4-5 shots against shorter stacks where I was probably 40-45% to win (but had the odds to do so) and whiffed them all. Up until doubling up at the end of the second hour, I was working the stack up, then playing 29d2d4d10d against q104210 and losing.

I paid off 2-3 hands that I should have gotten away from. The queens from above and a full house where i had tips showing and was still getting called by a fairly tight player.

I really did not like the structure. 3000 starting chips, but the first level was 30/60 and they were 12 minute levels. thats a full level more an hour than I am used to.

A shame man ! I really thought you had a descent shot in that one. players did not look overly competent.
Don't play much stud but people try the craziet shit even with trips showing those are tough decisions.. WP !

And, as ED has pointed out, I hit a one outer heads up to take it down (well, he had 4k left, so I took it down the next hand with my 1.1 million chip stack).

Which happened approximately an hour beforehand, when nikegolf (remember that name) hit the case jack on me, one outing me out of the second six figure pot of the tourney (both of which I lost). I said to myself that I could tilt off my still good stack, or shrug it off and try to play well.

I shrug it off and hang at 2-4 all the way to the final table, when I take the chip lead by knocking out both the fifth and fourth place finishers. In the hand I eliminated the fifth place finisher, I had qjj2ss and he had kkq10.


nikegolf then got all in with heidi (who was a much better player) and nikegolf and I were heads up. We played back and forth for a bit and this happened.

I was in the top 15 from the get go and in the top 3 from about 40 down to the end.
I really like this tourney.

Also, there were two occasions when ED told me to stop doubling up short stacks and run better, and I promptly had quads shortly thereafter (at key junctures) both times.
