Wierdest thing happened today...
PLaying 100PLO at Crypto, and although I wasn't paying attention, this one guy (who I think I'd seen before) was tilting and talking BS, usual stuff, cards are rigged, etc etc, he was actually claiming that the Crypto deal was biased in favour of the European players. Major tin hat stuff.
Anyway, then this hand came up. I recognise that my play is very dubious throughout, and I normally don't play like this (!) honest, but here I had a definite method... I called preflop because I had JJ plus a suited ace, a rather loose call (I would often fold here) but I thought I might get two calls behind me, and I didn't rate the raiser as the sort to lay down AA cheaply if a J fell.
Anyhow, the flop misses me, but he bets $5 into it. Although I have nothing, I call; I might be able to bluff a scare card, a J will give me the win and I'm guessing I'm good if a spade comes and he checks to me. My main reason for calling was that he EITHER had a bare flush draw (in which case he'd bet the flush card) or he had nothing but an overpair so I had big odds to catch a low scare card, or a flush, and either bluff him out or milk him as the situation demanded.
Turn kinda sucked in terms of my hand but it surely doesn't help him. I stick with the same plan, almost sure he has nothing here except maybe an overpair. I'm hoping the board pairs or a straight card hits that I can bluff, a spade or J might help too.
River spikes a nice straight card, the board is low and coordinated and his bet again looks weak. I can't believe he has anything here so I spring my bluff. Oh dear he calls. And then.... ermmm, who knows?
After this hand he complained for ages about the way I had played it and said that it just "proved" the site was rigged. Well, other than his awful play, nothing was wrong here - I even broke a cardinal rule and explained to him that I'd called intending to bluff and he just threw away $50 on top of his bluff bets to show down a garbage hand. Perhaps he thought I had the bare flush draw but I don't think so - the way he talked afterwards I think he basically just threw away his money to prove a point. The guy believed the site was rigged at that moment so strongly he had to "prove" that it was by tossing away money like that. Mad but true I think.
After the hand he said he'd recorded the game and was going to show it to the poker manager (!) lol... Well, I hope the manager told him what I was thinking... The only thing suss about this table was his horrible play...
Names changed to protect the innocent (and not so innocent)....
