As some people here are struggling at the micro levels and posting their stats I feel encouraged to do the same.
Something about my poker background. I have played the last 1.5 years exclusively PLO8 and have done quite well (9 PTBB/100 at limits between 25-100 PLO8). At the end of last year I have seen all these nice results people posted at 2+2 in the 2007 graph thread together with the amazing amount of hands they are able to play and decided to try out NL Hold'em. Here are the disillusioning results (except that you can really play at least twice as many hands at NL as at O8) :
I realize that my continuation bet frequency looks low. With position I was only c-betting my really strong hands and the hands which missed the flop completely. Hands such as top pair/medium kicker I checked on the flop in order to get to showdown cheaply. Is this an mistake?
My short summary about this adventure in NL Hold'em: This game tilts me way more than O8. Lately I have been hitting my desk and screaming at my computer endlessly. I miss the back up low draw and the other back up outs you have at Omaha so much.
Future plans: Someday I will give (deep stacked) NLH another shot. Therefore any advise to improve my play is welcome. In the mean time I will try to shortstack the NLH games to take advantage of the big player pool compared to PLO8. Excession, if you read this, do you want discuss some short stacking concepts via PM? I have calculated a lot of preflop scenarios (limp/All-in, stealing blinds, pushing over an opening raise) but I would like to hear some postflop advice. And of course I will remorsefully go back to PLO8 to be a winning player again.
Finally excuse my bad english I am not used to write long posts in this language.
