This happens to me ALL the friggin time.

I raise to $7 with QTs. The BB calls.

Pot $15. Flop T66. He check / calls $12.
Pot $39. Turn K....He check / calls $24
Pot $83. River J. he checks...I check behind. He wins with AJ.

PLEASE !!!. Someone tell me....is this a good player making what he thinks is a good call down with A high? I really dont understand it.

Yesterday Twelver raised AQ and the guy led out into a flop something like 866..some paired rag flop. and twelver called. So is calling with A high standard on these rag paired boards? His was a different situation, but I still dont see how it can show a profit long term.

Seemes idiotic to me, but Im trying to understand if its over my head or something.

Any pocket pair beats him and theres no way he can play a big pot even if he pairs up...so why not check / fold? Does he really think he has the best hand here?

I mean sometimes he does if I have KQ or something, but I still cant see how playing this hand OOP like this can ever show a profit. He cant even bet when he hit his card.

On the T66 flop you would be cbetting with 33 and 78 and KJ and 45. His AJ is probably good.

On the K turn you would probably be double-barreling any air hand you bet the flop with. It's also somewhat likely you would slow down if you had a marginal made hand. His AJ is probably good, plus he now has a gutshot!
