Had my worst PLO session tonight since I started playing about a month ago. Lost 2+ stacks for only the 2nd time. I guess I was due. I just got into some tough situations where I couldn't fold and then I had a small tiltish hand at the end where I should have folded probably, but who can dump an OESFD? They're just so pretty.

1 - I felt I had to bet this turn, thinking I might actually get some draws to fold. Well played and nice check on the river with quads my opponent....lol @ $25 PLO players.

2 - On the turn I had the nut flush draw + broadway gut shot draw + 2 pair. No way I'm folding this. Nice slowplay again by another $25 PLO player to get me to a spot where I have 11 outs on the river. I guess I could have just called the turn, but I woulda got it in with the boat on the river anyway for my last $5.

Thought I might be on my way to a rare 2 good weeks in a row, but dumped off at least a stack everytime I've sat down over the last 3 sessions.

Want to know why I'm down 2 stacks in NLHE this month? Doesn't matter if I know what they have, as I often do, I still can't out run it. Was also flush over flushed (J-hi vs A-hi) in the 3rd hand of this session too.

I think he has AK...and I think he's gonna call if I just shove my whole stack in. Right again.

Figured out the amount of total bullshit I can take before going on perma-tilt. It's about 7 hours or 20 hands give or take a few. After that, you better have a big hand if you're gonna shove on me.

This is where aggression around the bubble gets you: 5 bubbles and no cashes. Did pick up $216 in FT T$ in a WSOP Bracelet Race satellite. Oddly enough, I made the stupidest move of the day in that one and it won me the tournament. Why not? None of the correct moves worked out well.

- The reason we raise the flop bet with QTT7 double suited on a 6JT club draw flop is to isolate the preflop raiser who we think has AAxx and knock out possible flush draws. Or maybe we do it so that the Q-hi flush draw will cold-call the flop bet and raise from the SB and hit his flush on the turn.

Oh well, it'll even out in the next one.

- Ran AK (BTN) into KK (SB) in the Poker Savvy Plus Freeroll. Now I'm cancelling my membership. Cooler, nothing I can do.

Oh well, it'll even out in the next one.

- Among the chip leaders in the $9.5K (KO) tourny on Full Tilt with 150 left. I flopped the Royal Flush draw. I turned a double gutter to go with it. Yay! I'm gonna be the chip leader now....and I'm gonna win! Or I can finish 142nd.

SB shows: [As][Qc]

BUBBLE #1

Oh well, it'll even out in the next one.

- Check-raise all-in w/ [Ad][Qc][Th][4d] on a [5d][9c][8d] flop and get called by BOTH players. Ok, I have a low draw, the nut flush draw, and a gutshot straight draw to the nuts. And [Kc][Td][7c][6d] is your winner for the scoop. Because that is obviously the type of hand you want to take into battle in a PLO8 game.

Oh well, it'll even out in the next one.

- The reason why they defend against a tight CO open-raise with Q8o is because we might flop bottom pair and be able to get it all-in against ATo on a J98 flop. And so we don't take the easy slide into the money in the $100K and instead....

BUBBLE #2

Oh well, it'll even out in the next one.

- We got a little frustrated and called a preflop re-raise with 76s in position without the odds to do so in a Full Tilt WSOP Bracelet Race satellite. It was a stupid move. So naturally we'd be rewarded with a pair + FD and then call the all-in shove and river the flush.

So, when the smartest things you do, consistantly backfire, try doing something stupid and realize the online poker Gods (read: RNG) usually favor the stupid.

And it is this stupidity that keeps us even on the day in our 1 and only cash in 13 tries.

- The reason that we stuck around for 2 1/2 hours in a $10 HORSE tourny is so that we can flop 2 pair and lose to a gut shot draw and then lose again in the very next hand to another caller with a gut shot draw and finish 42nd and...............

BUBBLE #3

Oh well, it'll even out in the next one.

- JJ < 99 all-in preflop. At least this one only took an hour.

Oh well, it'll even out in the next one.

- Flopped bottom 2 pair out of the blinds on a K54 flop. Unfortunately K5 is a very playable hand on Sunday evening. Again, at least it was only a waste of an hour.

Oh well, it'll even out in the next one.

- We raise TT UTG+1 and get called from CO. The flop is 333 and we bet enough to commit us and get called. The turn is a Q, but like I said, we bet enough to commit us and now we're fucked. What else would they call with on the flop besides AQ? Because it beats absolutely NOTHING that we'd raise in early position on that flop? And so instead of taking another easy cash in the $32K we........

BUBBLE #4

Oh well, it'll even out in the next one.

- Played in Jennifer Harmon's Save The Animals or some shit charity tournament. $5+5. Maybe it will lead to some good karma. One thing it sure didn't lead to was decent poker players with fold buttons.

Took a free flop from the BB with 32s. Flopped trip 3's. Lost to JTo on a 933 flop. You figure it out.

Oh well, it'll even out in the next one.

- The reason we raise weak limpers is to punish them with better hands......and then to lose when they call after their UTG limp with Q7s and check-raise us all-in on the flop.

Oh well, it'll even out in the next one.

- Lost last 5x in a row after we raised. Last one was JJ < KQo. And I thought people were supposed to fold to aggression around the bubble.

BUBBLE #5

Conclusion. 13 MTT's and 8 1/2 straight hours of poker with absolutely no breaks to regroup is NOT healthy. I really need to find out how successful MTT players pace and balance their schedule. It's really different from cash games where you can play whenever you want and take breaks whenever you want. You can't just stop a tournament when you feel mentally drained or to eat or workout or whatever. And sitting here staring at the computer screen for that many hours straight can't be good either.

Played a little bit of 6-max this weekend, both LHE and NLHE, just because I was bored.
- 2/4 LHE on Stars. Very pathetic. Picked up 7BB in a little over a 1/2 hour. Might have to play this game more if they are generally this terrible.

- $50 NLHE on Stars. Even though I finished up 1/2 stack, I remembered why I never play this game. Was up well over $100 for a while, but every hand is a decision for your stack. The 1st time I 3-bet all session, some guy goes nuts with 22 for 200BB. They're fucking insane. All they want to do is play huge pots. Someone raises me and I 3-bet as a bluff, they'll still call with a bluff!

Some high/lowlights. I ran at 23/16 over the entire session so I assumed I should have been getting a LITTLE bit of respect. No way though....

- This player had been playing fairly TAG over the first 10 or so orbits, but had just preflop re-raised me 3x in a row. I folded every time. Wrong time to pick a fight?

This is the 1st time I 3-bet the entire session. (Only did so 3x total and got smacked each time.) Before the hand, all I knew was that villain was slightly loose. Now I can add psychotic.

On this flop, I was getting 6 to 1 with about 12 to 1 total in implied odds. Just enough to take a stab. Lucky turn, althought any K or J would have put me ahead as well, I wasn't stacking off with them. Unreal.

There were several other hands which combined to bleed me to death. The common theme being that I raise and they lead for a larger than pot sized bet almost every time so I started to call down a little lighter after a while.

Unless they got to 3-bet me before that. 11 out of the 38x I opened with a raise, I was re-raised preflop. One of my problems is that I tend not to handle re-raises very well and develop a folding problem after the same person does it for the 3rd or 4th time.

Christ! I've had it wrong all along!

I've gone all this time thinking that it had something to do with the best hand once you get all-in. I now realize that it's about whoever is prepared to beg the most and act like a child upon suckout.

Played what was likely my last $25 PLO session tonight. Dropped a little more than a stack and a half. Lost a ton of 20-40BB pots to made turn and river flushes. Still love how the majority of the $25 PLO players play their flush draws. Call, call, check behind on the river when they hit. Saves me money.

Only got it in twice. One as a 60/40 favorite (loss) and once as a 2/1 dog (win).

Not sure I'm too crazy about my opponents call here even if he is the favorite. I could have him crushed when I commit here and he can't be sure that any of his outs are clean.

Posted this one in the Omaha forum. Afterward I wasn't sure whether isolating was the best move rather than allowing everyone to call because all of my outs were probably to the nuts. The only problem would be an overpair hitting a bigger set. Probably doesn't matter much.

--------------------
Yesterday:
Only played in 5 later MTT's due to the holiday. Should have taken the whole day off. But first losing MTT day in a while so I can't really complain too much. Had few chances to make a profit, especially late, but it didn't work out.

Full Tilt $32K - Raised with KQ and flopped KQJ vs Mr. Play Every Hand. He hadn't not gone to showdown when given the opportunity yet. Good time for him to flop the nuts with the royal redraw - ATs.

Stars $25K - See post above. Guy gets all-in trips vs trips, begs for his 3 outter, hits on river, acts like a child.

Daily Doubles A&B - Nothing significant. Came close to a double cash, but couldn't get anything going in A. Open shoved A6s in hijack, called by AQ BTN. This was my only questionable deicsion of the day as I probably could have waited a little longer to make a move. Made the first level of cashing in B. Ran AQ into AK.

Full Tilt $28K - Ran a short stack barely up to the point where I could probably safely fold into the money and almost break even for the day, but chose to try one too many resteals. Still the correct move. TT < AQ. Would have set me up with 15K+ at the 200/400 level.

SB checks (19660), UTG+1 checks (9840), Hero bets 900 (5441), SB folds (19660), UTG+1 calls 900 (8940)

Turn: [As] (3207, 2 players)
UTG+1 checks (8940), Hero checks (5441)

River: [Ts] (3207, 2 players)
UTG+1 bets 1500 (7440), Hero ???

UTG+1 had min-raised from the same exact position last orbit and folded to my shove. I had JJ, not that it mattered. I noted that the min-raise from EP probably a marginal hand from him. Other than that he had been very quiet since I'd been moved to the table about 3 or 4 orbits ago.

I had been moved to the table on the short stack (10BB at 75/150) and had gotten it all in about 5x already preflop. I was called twice and showed AKs and AQs. The non-called hands were KJo opening from SB, AK, and the previously mentioned JJ. I had not yet just called preflop.

The bet on the flop is pretty standard. I probably have the best hand and want to take the pot down now if possible. Didn't happen and now I have this decision on the river.

It's just so difficult when you have no clue what level your opponent is thinking on.

I think he could min-raise and then call that flop with any medium PP. I beat 6's. I'm behind 55 and 88+. But that's a pretty thin value bet with 99 or less because I could have a Ten. Although the T on the river makes it less likely I have one. But I don't know if he's thinking that.

It could be that he had Axs or suited connecters and was on the flush draw that missed. If he has the A he's ahead, if not it's a bluff. That's a marginal bet with the Ace because I could have the Ten again or I could have a pocket pair so it's an understandable bet. It could be a bluff on the missed draw, but the 1/2 pot on the river smell so much like value bet.

He probably would have been more aggressive on the flop with a Ten in his hand so I can rule that out.

So if I lean towards giving him credit for a brain it's Ax hearts, a missed flush draw, or 55 most likely. I'm getting about 3.2 - 1. It's so close when you factor in the small chance that he's betting something like 99 or even 88.

I folded. But I'll probably be wondering about this hand all night because that pot would have given me room to work with and instead I ended up going out shoving AK over an UTG PFR and being re-shoved upon in 2 spots behind me. TT and JJ. Would have been a nice 13K pot and put me decently above average and with 450 left and 252 getting paid, most likely into the money.

Instead, I whiffed and went 0 for 4 tonight. Had planned on playing 7 to 9 MTT's tonight, but quit after I couldn't get anything going in any of the 4. Here's some of the ugliness.

This is really the one that knocked me out of the mood to play. If I'm gonna lose a hand like this, it's probably not going to be a good night.

After the hand I just said "nh" and BTN said that he had to call after another player started giving him a hard time. Of course he did. He was a 3-1 dog on the turn....and he was getting less than 3-1. Still, we want those calls though, don't we?

Still up comfortably on MTT's for the month despite a 3rd consecutive losing day with them.
