I'm registered Rep but I'm always the one saying; "Just fucking increase my existing taxes and don't come up with some massively inefficient BS taxation (like toll roads)." Things/services cost money and we have to foot the bill so just do it efficiently. But when I see all this 'tax money' going into building, manning, renovating, counting all that change, etc. at all these friggin' safety hazards we call 'toll plazas' it makes my head spin. Could it be any more inefficient? Could we have put any less thought into solving that problem? Cue picture of poker player lighting a benji on fire.
Many years ago here in Florida they introduced "Florida Lotto" and it passed because all the extra proceeds were to help fund education...only they turned around and allotted the money that used to go to schools for other things because now they had the revenue from Lotto. So our schools are still greatly underfunded...but hey....we can all gamble at the corner 7-11 now.
