The House Financial Service’s Subcommittee on Domestic and International Monetary Policy, Trade, and Technology Hearing has announced today that it will meet April 2nd to review proposed regulations to enforce the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, which makes it illegal for financial service companies to process transactions for most types of Internet gambling.
Congressmen Barney Frank, a leader in the fight against the ban, said in an interview with The Las Vegas Review Journal that the hearing is going to show the proposed regulations weren’t done well. Here is a link to the article: http://www.lvrj.com/business/16671246.html
We believe the hearing is an important step on the road to fixing the system and allowing Americans the freedom to decide whether to gamble online.
In advance of the hearing, we encourage you to contact your elected representatives and encourage them to support legislation introduced by Congressman Frank to legalize Internet gambling. Please visit www.safeandsecureig.org where you can learn more and write your elected representatives on this important issue.
Thanks.
