On the point that pkrkat and DH are making: Poker attracts gamblers. Markets are opening up worldwide. That seems to suggest that the games will stay good. On the other hand, by 2014 zmej will have solved the game. That is bad. It will be up to the poker sites to keep the bots out, and up to the affiliates to promote the game and keep bringing in the fishies. And up to the people to keep the game legal in their respective countries.

Live poker will always be a fishpen.

Pkrkat you do have a point about the future of poker I mean christ Omaha could get huge or some legalization or god only knows what then all of a sudden its like party circa 2003 again (one can only hope) but I feel that with the CR deal with FTP and if the games are never legalized the games will get tougher. Just my opinion.

It's great to hear feedback especially from both the pros and semi-pros. That's exactly what I was looking for when I posted this.

Looking back at my original post, I think I might have come across pretty biased - but that's just because I am. There are some things I left out which I feel need to be clarified after reading some of the replies:

- My monthly nut will be about $550. Remember, rent and most of my food is covered.
- The job is only a 10 minute commute from my house which adds value to it
- I have until April 30th to respond, so I will definitely keep looking
- I could always decline the job and just keep looking.. I know my dad would argue that I should just take the job and quit when I find another one, but a counter argument is that I don't want to burn any bridges for the future
- If I decline it I won't feel pressure to take a job I'm clearly not happy with
- I can use that down time to just grind to my hearts content

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to negotiate a salary with my boss? Keep in mind they're hiring 4 other people and this is a position for college technicians, NOT engineers (I just found this out btw). The full time engineering starting salary is $65k, confirmed by one of my friends who interned there the year before and is working there on contract now (he's getting $65k).

So are they offering you a position that you are overqualified for (I.E. below what you think of as your starting job) or is it just not as good as positions at other companies?

between January and early march I spent a boat load on coaching with xaston, leggopoker and bobbofitos's book. Probably around 5k or so total. It's completely changed who I am as a poker player.

For those that asked....Cardrunners guys are now Full Tilt pros. Their names are in red now and they supposedly play exclusively at Full Tilt.

Full Tilt has also put up some "educational" tables which are the only tables that the Cardrunners guys can play under hidden names in order to make videos. Anyone else playing at these tables is compensated in some sort of way when playing against a Cardrunners pro.

I've also heard something about Full Tilt offering Cardrunners memberships for points, but I'm not sure if that has happened yet.
