Instead of Into thin air, I reccomend "Left for dead" written by Beck Withers (I believe) who is another guy that was on another expedition than Krakauer's at the same time, and was left as dead in the snow.
I can also reccommend Middlesex, by Jeffrey Eugenides is also a great book.

Monk, did you get "Matter" yet?
It's quite pathetic really. When I found it in the book store I went all giddy and cradled it all the way home. Then I refused to start reading it because I was tired everytime I went to bed and didn't want to read it with less than full concentration. Now I'm reading it super slowly so it will last longer (if only that bastard would be as productive as some of the hacks).
