I seriously hate poker right now. Me and the wife were going to go to a movie tonight, but she was too tired, so instead we stayed home. So obv I fire up some tables and lose like $2300.

I lose a $900 pot on a 7 outer to a huge 85/15 drooler.

I lose a stack AK vs AA, pretty standard

I try to tarp this total aggfish with KK, flop comes A high.

I make a sick read and call a flop min raise on a Kxx rainbow board with 33. Turn is an A so I C/R, he calls with A8 (no pair no draw on the flop). Luckily I didn't bet the river.

Every bluff I made got called or 3-bet. I even 3-bet 79s (preflop) and got shoved on by a shorty behind me and had to call that.

Basically everything went wrong.

I know my journal is turning into a whine fest but wtf? I have had 1 really decent month in my last 10 or 11 months. That month was January and I ran about $1000 over EV in allins and pretty much hit my share of sets and coolers, etc. That to me is running hot. Where are the months that I recoup the thousands of lost EV when I run bad?

Anyway...I think I am done with this journal for a while. I'm going to try to regroup and figure things out.

The interview with Tiger Woods is pretty interesting. It just shows what it takes to be great...which is also discouraging because I know I don't have it, nor will I.

Quick update time.

I have spent a lot of time working on my game this week. I have also played some, but not a ton. I am up about $4k in 3,500 hands which is nice.

Today I ran pretty meh (won 42% of showdowns) but still finished up $300. Although I made some mistakes I think I am value betting much better than ever before and am understanding the game at a whole new level right now.

Its hard to explain but I think I've had sort of an "aha" moment and am starting to really understand opponents' ranges a lot better and a lot more naturally. Although I am still not playing as good as I am capable of, I feel that I have the tools in place to play really well in the near future.

Also, unless table conditions dictate it my old 19/15 style is dead, especially at 5-max. I am gradually opening up my game. Currently I am at about 22/18.5, but I think I might be able to get that up to 25/21 or so...maybe more under some conditions. At 6-max I think I would play more like 20/17 to 22/18 or so.
