Bad runs indeed...After my own crappy streak, and reading about the other carnage here at BTP, I had to take a couple days off...I played a bit yesterday, won a couple bucks and got close to the Interpoker bonus...Just played ABC poker (12% VP$P)...Geez, it just felt good NOT to lose!!!

Goddamm poker.......When you run like shit, you always question every move you make...I CANNOT win recently in any game, so I went back to my SNG's...I suppose I was looking for some sort of affirmation, but........It worked.....
At least I know I am playing reasonably well...

played 6 of em...

ITM 100%

Details later, but is that light I see at the end of the tunnel???

The Good, and the Bad...

SNG's---I played about 7 more since my last update, ITM in 5---only one win though...I feel like I have played really well...

The limit bonus chasing is as frustrating as be...I CANNOT get anywhere...If the bonus is 50, I spend 45 getting it...My VP$P is below 14%, so it's not like Im tilting...I KNOW I have had some poor post flop decisions, (Too timid---Too aggressive), but overall i think I have played better than break even...You wouldnt know it from my BR...I also haven't played much, as I need the time to clear my head, and re group...

I did have a little fun at the BTP NL tourney yesterday, as I made it about halfway thru...TW kept us entertained while I threw away hand after hand...I finally got all in(pre flop) with the best of it---AA vs A- 10 vs 55...Quad 5's baby LOL story of my month!!! I had a few hands earlier--KK's QQ's but just got the blinds...sigh...I better get back at it, and quit whining!! GL all....

Well hell---I played 4 more SNG's last evening...ITM in 2 of em (a 2nd and a 3rd)---I was REALLY playing well, except making one HUGE blunder ( I called---dumbass) which probably cost me the win. He was trash talkin a bit, and I think it threw me off a bit...It's a shitty excuse, but to ignore that it might have affected me is dumb too...If I write about it, maybe it won't happen again...I was sorely tempted to get the hand histories for a "show and tell" about all the suck outs, and why I should have won 3 out of 4, but let's face it, nobody gives a shit, and If I had any real questions on my play, I would post it over in the SNG section...

Suffice it to say---I raised big with AKs, flopped KK, and went on to lose...(that's the only story, I promise)

It has been interesting reading all the WSOP blogs and reports...Some of the "old guard" have been having some good showings. TJ and Johnny Chan to name 2, and Doyle got close in a PL event...My girl Cyndy Violette ( LOL I wish!!) has had a great WSOP, as she came in 2nd to Erik Seidel in a NL event. I played with her in LV 20 or 25 years ago, and she was a sweetheart...Looks pretty damn good to me all these years later!!

I am back on the bonus trail as soon as I update this...I KNOW I am playing pretty well, as my SNGs are treating me OK...This limit stuff is driving me crazy, but it just has to a bad streak (which will be over NOW!!!)

Thanks for reading guys...I am not sure what got into me, but I was giggling like a child when I was writing the above post...Shortly thereafter, I was in a 3 way capped pot with AA, and lost my internet conn...I never did get to see if the AA would have held up or not; needless to say I called it a day after that...

I had a "decent" run a day or two later, and coupled with some bonuses, my BR is at new highs (albeit just slightly)...

I played a "live" tournament over the weekend (it was a charity event which my associates paid for)) and as usual, I got about half way thru playing about 5 hands...It really was enjoyable, as the people were all nice, and OMG, the players were SO bad...If I could play against those folks every day, I would't have time to update this journal!!

One of the newest members to BTP is my dear buddy "annoyed" who as a player, makes Piers look like a loose raving lunatic! He told me he spent 90 minutes last night reading TW's journal and enjoyed it immensely, so it proves my friend is twisted as hell, as well as fitting right in with our group.

Strange the way things have been going...I just cannot seem to get "over the hump" in limit...The bonuses are great, and I do win a little (and I mean a LITTLE) but seems like I really am spinning my wheels...I guess it could be just a bad stretch as I still feel I am playing pretty damn well...My "VIP" #s are WAY down, hovering just below 14%, and my agg% has picked up a notch or two as well. I am just little frustrated with the limit game as of now...

As usual, when things get tough, I go play my SNGs....Although i did have a bad stretch at the SNG's awhile back (I played 4 or 5 in a row without a cash) I recently had a nice little run, which proves (to me at least) I am playing some pretty damn good poker...I played 4 last night---I bubbled on the first one (Grrrrrr) and then-------------This poker thing can drive you to drink--and I already drink---

I love the pokerstars sitngos....

The blinds go up so slowly and they give you $1500 to start. I'ts a goldmine for a good player.

I played like 200 $20 sitngos and had an ITM ratio of 51% Maybe you should consider moving up? With the stats on your $10 sitngos...sounds like you are better then I was. I think you would kick some ass.

Dear Bobby

I can't begin to thank you for taking my hand and leading me out of ignorance into the wonderous light of playing poker for bonuses at the crypt-0-logic sites!

The vast quantity of loose fish types that occupy those places are reward enough, even without the 25 pound (my keyboard doesn't make that british squiggly think that describes their crazy third world money. On the other hand, for being in the developing world the brits have really worked hard at learning English.) bonus.

I really appreciate you taking the time to walk me through all the sign-ups and such, but one thing that I wasn't aware of is how weak the British pound is compared to the dollar. After my 10 hours of play and receiving my 50 pounds in bonuses, my account is worth about 3 bucks more than what I joined with. How can the Brits survive with the pound worth so little compared to the dollar?

Or am I missing something?
