Get first class. Even if you can stretch your legs in emergency row, you cannot tilt your seat outside first/business class. Makes a huge difference. You can actually sleep.
Then skip al crappy food and stuff. Take the light meal, you'll get quickly.
Take two glasses of wine and a sleeping pill. You'll sleepp like a baby. Drink a lot of water to avoid to get dehydrated.
Have the isle seat, best is the middle row with two seats. That depends between Airbus and Boeing though. You can check it out on seatguru.com. In that way you can avoid climbing out if you need to go to the bathroom, and to wake up if somebodye else wants to.
You'll have a good chance to avoid awake and not needing to spend the first day in the hotelroom trying to get back to normal.
This advice is suited to business travel, but if you comapre the costy for losing one day due to jetlag and and sleepdepravation compared to the extra cost for business class, you'll get the picture. And some sleep.
