The idiot, of course, is me.
feel free to make as much fun of me here as you like, though I would appreciate some actual suggestions.
Last year I made somewhere between $25k-$30k online. As of now, I have not yet filed my taxes. We'll ignore the number of reasons that I had, but talking to some friends yesterday I realized "oh, i'm an idiot, I should do that".
So, what are my options? Obviously one option is just to ignore it and hope I don't get audited. However, I had payed taxes on $108,000 for 2006 (my accountant at the time suggested filing it as gambling winnings, so I guess as far as the IRS is concerned there, it could look like I hit a slots jackpot or something, but I don't really know if that's how it works).
How about filing late? I'm trying to get suggestions from a few different places while I wait to hear back from my accountant, so I figured there's bound to be a few people on here who won't harass me too much about this and might even have some good advice.
