I think a fold is wrong here and I'm suprised so many people thought it was the right move.
The raise is common fish tourney play. If I had known this guy to be a good player it's a little different because he may be inducing a raise by betting that weak. With the blinds and antes no one with a decent hand is going to fold here... since he's a short stack I push here and isolate him for what I expect to be a coinflip.
It's easy to say one thing or another about this when you read it online but in the middle of the action I push here. You need to double up, that's my primary reason for getting it in. I don't see this bet as being anything other than two paint cards. If he has any PP, even AA, he's going to bet what he has in his stack because there is about 40% of stack in just the blinds and antes. Anyone I know would love to increase thier stack by 40% without a showdown.
It's like you said, these levels are short and you can't wait around to play proper poker with 300BBs. You have to make calculated risks and need to win flips to get anywhere. 77 is a very weak hand here I understand what others are saying but I would rather take a flip to get a reasonable stack over blinding off some more and needing to double to get back to 10xBB.
