Unless this guy was an aggro Vietnamese or something like that, I think you're always behind, occasionally horribly so.

AQ is such an easy fold that there's no question about it. KJo I'm keeping with either flush redraw.

The real issue here is this imo: In live play, including your sense of how the player is acting as well as past observations, you should KNOW whether you're ever ahead on this turn against this player. If you are, then it's close enough to call (AA/QQ are imo pretty rare but somewhere in there). If not (as with the majority of live 2/5 players), it's a fold.

Aisthesis, I dont know if you read the original right. The player who ended up cold calling was not the original raisor he was an EP limper, I think he has AA/QQ a small enough amount of the time that we can pretty much discount it as a bad cold deck when it happens. In live poker I am pretty much willing to go broke every time set over set, unless there are some very special circumstances. I also totally disagree that a flat call is ok on this flop, this is about as drawy a board as possible and there are multiple players still left to act behind me, this is a really bda time to allow 2 players to come along for a cheap turn card. There are a ton of cards that kill my action even if I still have the best hand and there are a ton of cards that can kill me to all kinds of gutshots or flush draws. I do think the bet sizing was a little awkward. I think $180 is the perfect bet, allowing me to get away from a bad turn and not leaving myself in a kind of in between spot. I though for a couple seconds and called and the guy tabled . The guy was pretty bad and I don't think it mattered what I bet even if I had shoved he was going to call.
