Reducing demand here in the USA may not be enough. Demand is skyrocketing in places like India and China, that is putting more pressure on the demand end of things than we are....plus India and China have no environmental standards whatsoever, so they get to pollute all they want and no one holds them accountable.

You’re right I did contradict myself in a way. I am against the price gouging and the conspiracy that created this fuel shortage panic. However I am defending the money the CEO is making. Just because he works for a oil company doesn’t mean he should be penalized. If it is proven that he was part of the conspiracy then he should be prosecuted.
The reason I say it is a conspiracy is because one or two companies could not pull it off.

I'm not sure why you're so big on the concept of a CEO being that important because their companies employ so many people. It's not like they're always such responsible shepherds. God forbid Exxon's profit gets cut in half next year to a mere $20 billion or so and the stock dips a buck or two, causing the CEO to lay off a few thousand. There's little responsibility and certainly no loyalty left in that world.
