As expected, I disagree with most of that article. Especially the general tone of it.

He is right, of course. One local business (a floral farm) just lost 60% of its workforce due to INS action. It is affecting the entire community negatively. None of those illegal workers was receiving welfare, they were using bogus SSNs so were never going to collect SSI/SSDI, and they were performing shit jobs that no one else really wanted. So now we have a large population of skilled horticulturists out of work right at the start of dope growing season, a shortage of flowers/bulbs/starts for next year's lilies, and higher prices.

At least dope might be cheaper come fall.
