Well, yes and no.

Sucks that the BB hand the 7T to go with his aces, but I don't like that hand against what is most likely a raise from an AA or KK hand. Your A is almost worthless and you've got 2 double gappers with it, so you are almost guaranteed that if you hit a str8 it's not gonna be a nut str8.

789T is a better hand than AJ79 vs. AA I think (although I'm too lazy to run 2dimes against it).

Now, if you had a read on the guy that raised with the AA that said he'd fold to a missed flop, than it was a good play that you got unlucky with.

I don't think you have a great hand to snap off aces, but I don't think it is a bad call either. You do prefer to have 789T, but I don't think the ace is worthless, given that it adds nut-flush possibilities and takes away one out for the BB to hit his set. I would play it in the hope to flop two pair and a big draw, or two pair on a completely harmless board.

However, this flop is not the one that I like to get very excited about. One pair plus some non-nut straight draws. It is also worrying that the SB is still in the hand.

If you were up against the BB alone then I think I might play as you did, provided I know that the BB is the kind of player who will bet pot on the flop no matter what. But I think that when he bets pot against two opponents on this type of board, he has more than just an overpair (at least I wouldn't do that with naked AA). You must figure he has at least a decent draw to go with it. I guess that still there is a chance that he is folding, but I don't think it is easy to get the SB out, since he is shortstacked and gets a chance to triple up. If I were the SB I'd call with any set or two pair or nut straight draw.

So, yes, unlucky to run into this particular hand, but it was a not a risk-free play. The fact that you know that someone has AA makes it less likely, but not impossible that he has a good part of the board. I won quite a lot of big pots when I had something like AA66, the flop came 46J and someone thought his bottom set or two pair were good because I had AA.

Anyhow, I might have played the same, but only with a very good read that the SB would fold and that the BB would play the a coordinated 3-way flop like that..

Heads up it's a very nice play if you have a read on this guy that he'll drop AA; the big worry is that the SB is not only still in the hand BUT is a short-stack too, and thus more likely to push, which'll dent your chances significantly if he has anything much. I think it's a close to marginal move high, and a pretty high-variance one.

Also, it's amazing how badly people get tied to AA - against a good player a few days back I was in a very similar spot, made the big all in flop raise against his (pretty clear) AA with my 60% favourite one pair wrap hand, thinking he was certain to drop, and he called with AA, no other draws, and got rewarded as a dog with turn and river rags for a E500 pot; damn, huh!

Anyway, back to the hand - I think I like your play although the presence of the SB worries me rather a lot, though at least he only has $75. If he's out of the picture then I think it's a very smart bluff against most $200PLO players, so yeah seems you got a tad unlucky.
