Mint... I was gettin my ASS handed to me a couple weeks ago... I lost like 6 or 7 $100SNGs on the bubble where I went in as a 75%+ favorite, and got outdrawn by crap... Stuff like I push pocket Ks, he calls w/ pocket 7s... I'm not so pissed if he pulls a 7, as that'll happen every once in a while... But, INSTEAD, the flop comes 9,8,6... Turn 10 and I'm dead...

I've been gettin murdered the whole month... It became so bad that I would start to expect the bad beat... Stuff like I have AK push on a AK6 board, he's got K6 and rivers another 6... I would just sit back, cringe, and wait for the bad news...

My solutions (and not sure if these'll help) were... I didn't play online for a week... Let me blow off some steam... Also, I'm a MUCH better live player, and found a bunch of cash games where my bad luck didn't carry to... Finally, I dropped from the $50s and $100 SNGs, and decided I'm not gonna play ANY kind of poker until I play 100 $10 SNGs, to see if I'm fucking up or if it's just the poker Gods fucking me...

I'm SLOWLY but surely coming out of it... But, it's DEFINITELY a bitch.... Especially in SNGs, where you can't rebuy and try to get your money back...

MVP--thanks for the reply. I've been thinking about dropping back down to the $10 sng also. I think when you get so many beats it begins to effect your play. It makes you gun
shy. I folded AK earlier today to an all in short stack just because I knew what was coming--No ACe or King. I think I may lay off a day or two and regroup--thanks again for the advice. Isnt it irritating when you know your a better player than these knuckleheads but the cards keep telling you something different. Im beginning to think the cards are right.

I much prefer to play SnGs to ring games but when my luck is REALLY running bad in the SnGs, I will take a break and just play ring games. Then I get sucked out a few times more by the chasers and appreciate better the players in the SnGs.

Hang in there - my longest streak OTM is 7 games. But I also have a 7 game streak of ITM so it balances out over the long run. I know how it feels on both streaks. The OTM streak I got very passive - knowing I was going to get sucked out. On the ITM streak I was playing everything strong and of course hitting the coinflips. Felt like was actually pretty good.

When you are on a bad streak, which does happen to everyone if you play enough, here's what I've been doing...

No matter what happens when I'm all in with my kings against his ace crap (for example), I start cheering for his cards to hit, like here comes your ace, here comes your straight, etc. I found it to be very cathartic. I expect to get sucked out now so often, that when it actually doesn't happen and my cards hold up, I'm pleasantly surprised. Give it a shot, it looks hilarious online when you are typing stuff like that in the chat box. I even did it live in a tournament the other night. I pushed all in with my 9s and a fish called in the BB with K 6 os. People were laughing their behinds off as I cheered for this guys king. It made him look even more retarded, I loved it!

Don't forget to have fun, if its not fun, take a break, go from 3 tables to one, etc.
