If you're heads up with 300/600 blinds and the guy is going all in on virtually every hand, that guy might have been me, because I think that's the right way to play a SNG.
I think the obvious answer is to call with almost anything. If he's pushing with 95% of his hands and you're calling with 75% of your hands, you'll usually have a better hand when the chips get in the middle, and there's only a 1/16 chance that you'll have to fold two or more times.
It'ls not really "maniacal" play because he has +900 EV every time you fold and only figures to be a 60/40 underdog on average when you call, so -20% of the lower of yall's stacks in EV. If you both have 5000 chips, that's -1000... so even in his worst case scenerio, you would have to call at least 50% of the time for that to be a losing play.
