TW, I really like your journal... it cracks me up. Keep up the great work!
The one thing I can't get over is that you and a few other full-timers always bellyache about how hard it is to put in the hours -- I cackle every time I hear you FTers whine like little biatches.
As such, I suggest a challenge.
Challenge
Four other part-time players who have full-time jobs and I will challenge you and four other "full-time" poker players. The challenge is to see you can log the most hours over a one week period. FTers have to log 1.5x the PTer average or more.
Dates
If it can be worked out, August 8-14 (M-Su) would be ideal.
Stakes
As there is no really way to verify the results, I would prefer this to be a mostly pride/shame thing, but here are a few suggestions:
- Losers make $10 donation to BTP
- Losers have to put some kind of "loser" tag in their sig (although "Forum Jackass" is hard to beat)
- Losers have to ham up some donk posts (e.g., should I fold AA preflop here?) on a well-read site with lots of people who like to flame (e.g., 2+2 or FCP) under their real names.
I am sure other people can come up with more interesting stakes... feel free to make suggestions. The ultimate prize would have been to have the everyone pitch in $50 and the winners get 1/5 share of Iceman's stock, but I think we're a bit late for that.
Details
Each day players will post the following PT info:
- Total hours at table (this is the competition
- Total table hours
-Game types played (e.g., 25NL, 25PLO8, etc.)
- # of tables (e.g., 4 or 2-3)
- VP$IP
- Net gain/loss
- BB/100
So what do you think?
In case my tone isn't obvious, this is a fun, friendly challenge to motivate you FTers to perform to your full potential.
