iceman5's updated bankroll chart...12/19/04

Postby iceman5 » Tue Dec 21, 2004 3:11 pm

Ive finally broken out of my funk. Ive tightened up considerably in order to keep losses to a minimum until I fixed a few leaks and it has paid off. I had a better week than Ive had for quite some time.
The vertical line in the chart represents where my bankroll was the last time I posted a chart.

Good to hear your bad run is ending ice. I've actually had some fun this week playing 25NL, way below my usual (100 and up for me at the moment, though generally omaha games) and put up some great numbers there when i've just been messing about for a few hours. Back to my usual tables in the new year, feeling more positive about things now.

I wish my stocks had a chart like that.

How exactly did you make a chart like that?

If I may answer for iceman, he maintains an Excel spreadsheet, from which it is simplicity itself to generate a chart.

In its most basic form, you just need to keep a one-column list of numbers, which signify your bankroll at the end of each day (or session, or week, or whatever your time-slice is).

E.g.

100
110
140
130
160
140
190

..etc.

Then you can just click on the 'chart' icon in Excel and press 'Finish' (pretty much) and you'll get something like that out of it.

If youve never used the "chart wizard" in excel then its a little more complicated than Tetsuo made it sound, but if you follow the directions its not too bad.

Excel is great for record-keeping. I record every session - every time I sit down until the time I get up, with the # of minutes I played and the $ I have in the account when I sit down and again when I quit.

My chart is a little funky, because I have like 2-3 little dots per day, as I tend to play a couple of shorter sessions per day. If I were to post the chart without the $$ by it, it would look pretty impressive.
