Well! Bit of a strange session. The limit tables treated me brutally, though I will admit that frustration may have been getting the better of me in the second half. I put in about 4 hours, and succeeded in dropping a solid $211. I laughed myself half to death 'pon reading a recent journal entry of rich's where he mentioned that his biggest losing day EVER......was 200-odd bucks at the 3-6 limit tables. CHRIST, that's a standard day for me! What I wouldn't give for that kind of variance, or lack there of.
ANYWAY, things got interesting after I quit the limit tables. I cracked open a bottle of Knob Creek bourbon (having read MecosKing's sterling review of it) and I must say, that is some damned good stuff. It's probably not meant to be...ahem..."sipped"...as fast as I did, though, so by the time I hit up the $50 6-handed PLO tables, I was feelin a bit "happy."
Did I mention I played on the 6-handed $50 PLO tables? Well I did, for about an hour and a half. I succeeded in recouping my day's losses and then some! All told, I 3-tabled the suckers and made $262! WaBANGA! I played pretty much anything other than trips, hah hah, and I raised anything that looked pretty. Post-flop, I bet just about everytime I had any piece of the board whatsoever, but I was good about getting away when folks played back. Won a couple of biggies (set of AA vs set of KK, top two pair against an opponent's VERY obvious AA)...I still don't know if I was a bit overaggressive on the top two pair hand, but hey it worked. Mostly, though, just won some small/medium pots since my opponents were either nutpeddling and folding everything postflop, or calling me down with complete garbage. I obviously don't expect it to always work so nicely, but it was a lotta fun and actually put me slightly in the black for the day!
I'll probably hit up the limit tables for another hour or two later...I won't be playing any more PLO, because it'd be a shame to drink this whole bottle in one night! Damn thing cost me $26!
