During the summer, I finally made a jump from home games to internet poker. I made a 50 dollar deposit... and worked it up to about 120 dollars before going bust. So... I made another 50 dollar deposit... this while on tilt, and I lost it quickly. So I waited a month, and then made one more deposit of 50. I worked that up to over 160 before letting some personal problems out side of poker effect my play and losing it all again.
So what do you do when you're out 150 bucks online? You look at why it happened. I realized that I was playing at limits my bankroll wasn't able to support. I was hoping to make big money all in one big shot. Sort of like how people buy lottery tickets in hopes to win millions rather than thru education and dedication to work.
I realized that if I was going to make money in poker, I would have to play smart, within my ablities, and within my bankroll. To be successful, I needed to stick to my guns. I realized that Limit Poker was where I could learn the most, and profit the most over a long period of time. I looked around to find micro limit poker sites that could support my small bankroll. Pacific Poker answered the call with their .05/.10. They even gave me ten dollars for free to play without even making a deposit!
Thus began my mission to turn 10 dollars into 7,000 in one year, by playing limit poker, and correctly sticking within my bankroll. I started the mission in November, and I've seen first hand how swings can be, as December was a tough month for me until christmas.

It's going to take a while, and I know it's not going to be sexy to be playing at micro limits. However, I eventually hope that I will be the guy who can happily say he took 10 dollars and cashed it out at 5 grand a year later, rather then the guy who took 10 bucks and built it up to 5 grand in a few weeks and lost it all on one hand.
