Well, halfway through my session, I've already been 2-outered 3 times! Nice. For good measure, there were 2 hands were I would've 2-outered my opponent, but both times I folded an overpair that was obviously beaten. Isn't that fucking ironic? God damnit.

Well! Bit of a strange session. The limit tables treated me brutally, though I will admit that frustration may have been getting the better of me in the second half. I put in about 4 hours, and succeeded in dropping a solid $211. I laughed myself half to death 'pon reading a recent journal entry of rich's where he mentioned that his biggest losing day EVER......was 200-odd bucks at the 3-6 limit tables. CHRIST, that's a standard day for me! What I wouldn't give for that kind of variance, or lack there of.

ANYWAY, things got interesting after I quit the limit tables. I cracked open a bottle of Knob Creek bourbon (having read MecosKing's sterling review of it) and I must say, that is some damned good stuff. It's probably not meant to be...ahem..."sipped"...as fast as I did, though, so by the time I hit up the $50 6-handed PLO tables, I was feelin a bit "happy."

Did I mention I played on the 6-handed $50 PLO tables? Well I did, for about an hour and a half. I succeeded in recouping my day's losses and then some! All told, I 3-tabled the suckers and made $262! WaBANGA! I played pretty much anything other than trips, hah hah, and I raised anything that looked pretty. Post-flop, I bet just about everytime I had any piece of the board whatsoever, but I was good about getting away when folks played back. Won a couple of biggies (set of AA vs set of KK, top two pair against an opponent's VERY obvious AA)...I still don't know if I was a bit overaggressive on the top two pair hand, but hey it worked. Mostly, though, just won some small/medium pots since my opponents were either nutpeddling and folding everything postflop, or calling me down with complete garbage. I obviously don't expect it to always work so nicely, but it was a lotta fun and actually put me slightly in the black for the day!

I'll probably hit up the limit tables for another hour or two later...I won't be playing any more PLO, because it'd be a shame to drink this whole bottle in one night! Damn thing cost me $26!

Good to see those PLO tables worked for you. With so many hole cards how can you not win?

I am glad to see I made you laugh. The fact that my best ever win at $3/$6 was about $120 should make you laugh harder. I think limit poker in general just hates me.

Hope the whisky is good, $26 must mean you are going all la-de-daa posh on us. Next thing you will be putting it in a glass with ice and one of those little umbrellas.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, I also briefly crashed Xaston's 5-10 shorthanded table, just because I've been wondering for WEEKS now what the hell "xaston" means. Turns out it doesn't mean anything, lol! We played one hand together, and it was a kinda funny one. I can't even bitch, because I've been known to 3-bet an aggressive player with trash as well...post-flop, I decided the passive route was best off, and I'm sticking to my guns there...ANYWAY, for your viewing pleasure:

Heh heh, no worries on the ice/umbrella front, rich. What I'm doing to this poor bottle of whiskey would probably make any true gentleman cringe. If you're interested, here's my recipe for the TW surprise!

1 Bottle of whiskey/gin/any hard liquor
1 Shot glass
1 Sad, lonely degenerate gambler

Mix all ingredients as quickly as possible.

Heh heh, wound up having a pretty funny late-night session. It was funny because I was drunk as a...intoxicated person...throughout the entire session. Things got off to a rockin start when I sucked out on some guy's aces with my T7s...but wait! This isn't just your average TW suckout! This is the SAME GUY that sucked out on me earlier, KQ vs AK, by hitting a runner-runner flush! About 5 minutes of trash-talk ensued, after which we actually started to have a friendly conversation. We also kept daring eachother to raise our blind, which led to a bunch of fun hands / bloody awful suckouts. And THEN...

Piers' exgirlfriend shows up! Go figure! Apparently she couldn't resist my sexual magnetism! She didn't actually sit down at the table, but she did ridicule my play a bit, and for good reason. Eventually, we embarked on a heated match of "20 questions" which is still in progress. I like my chances. SHe got off to a good start in the early questions, but now I really think she doesn't know where to go next, so I'd be surprised if she gets it within 20.

Anyway, I managed to finish up about $120 despite being thoroughly intoxicated! Just goes to show. I had previously vowed to myself that I wouldn't play drunk, but then again, what the hell! Right? Right.

Current limit : 3-6 LHE
Current Bankroll : $2589

Well, I got the new week off to a good start, playing some more shorthanded PLO of all things, lol! Put in about an hour and a half and made $189. So far, I've played about 5 hours on the $50 tables, 3 at a time, and made about $550. Clearly, something is going to give soon enough, but I'll enjoy my Omaholic success while it lasts! Of course, it's tough emotionally since my LAGish style lends itself to a lot of...constructive criticism from my opponents. Well, to be honest, it may also be the fact that I've put forth a dizzying number of suckouts in my young PLO career. Nevertheless, there's no excuse for some of the awful names I've been called.

Current limit : 3-6 LHE, $50 PLO
Current Bankroll : $2341

I'm still not sure why you are still playing LHE. I look forward to more posts from you in the Omaha forum.

Welcome to The Dark Side.

Labels. Labels are what cause people to be less than they are. Because we attach labels to ourselves, we force ourselves to become what those labels are. I label myself an alcoholic, and so I force myself to constantly be drunk, even though I don't want to be. I have to live up to that label. I label myself a gambler, and so I take bad bets, I gamble with everything I have, just so that I can fit into that label. Labels are what cause people to be what they're called, and prevent people from being what they are. Then again, I'm pretty drunk right now. See ya'll in a couple of weeks.

You ever have one of those days, where you feel like your whole life is coming apart? I have that day every day, lately. So as opposed to feeling like my life is coming apart, I feel like my life has come apart. And every single day, I fucking try to put it back together again. Some days, it works. And some days, it doesn't. And on some days, like today, I finally realize that "life" is what is going on right fucking now, not something that I'm supposed to work toward, or work at, or look forward to.

And on some days, like today, I'm really fucking god-damned drunk. I apologize...and I figure the embarassment of the previous paragraph will keep me away for a week or two. I know, it sounds like I'm feeling sorry for myself, but that's not true. I'm only feeling sorry for what I've done to myself, or what I haven't done for myself. Believe me, that last sentence makes a lot more sense when you're really fucking god-damned drunk. So don't fucking respond if you don't have anything to fuckin say.
