Can anyone guess what these guys were playing

Postby Rhound50 » Sun Jan 02, 2005 12:54 pm

This hand happened last night at the $100 NL game at commerce, lets see if anyone can put these two guys on their hands.

I am on the button with 10/9h, a rock raises to $15, loose passive played #2 calls, I call from the button. The flop is 8c7h3d, rock bets $20, player #2 calls, I call. Turn is a Qh, giving me no a flush draw to go with my open ended straight draw. Rock bets $20 again, player #2 calls again. I consideder raising all in here but, I'm pretty sure that both of these players are going to call, and if I hit my hand I'm going to get paid of either way. I make the flush on the river, rock all in for $80, player #2 all in for $50, actions to me with about $70 left in my stack. I call and turn over my flush. Can anyone guess what these guys were playing?

Strange play by the rock -- underbets the pot on the flop and turn, and goes all in on the river. [Ah][Kh] maybe? No idea about loose passive.

Hard to tell w/o knowing the river card but Im guessing something like AK for the raiser and TT for the other guy.

Okay, I'll bite. I put the rock on [Ah] [Kh] and loose passive on [Ad] [8d] .

No great reasoning beyond a rock wouldn't under bet pot on flop with AA, KK but the flush draw might keep him in.

Loose passive played A8 and came out with TPTK. He won't push it but will ride it to the river to see if he improves. I'll give him a flush draw on the flop to interest him even more.

The rock is playing AA, horribly underbet his hand, the loose passive player was playing KK. The guy with AA was pretty pissed when I turned over my flush. My first insticnt was that one of them had to be playing AhKh, but I had $60 left and there more than three times that in the pot so there was no way I was going to fold. I have never seen big pocket pairs played that soft before. Everytime I have ever seen AA vs KK, they have been played all in preflop or all in after the flop.

And Iceman the river heart I believe was the 2h, possible the 3 or 4, it was under the board and didnt make a str8.

K3nt, I would have said what are these morons playing but I kind of wanted everyone else to get the same feeling of shock I did when these two bozo's turned over their hands. I knew I had sucked out on both of them when the river hit, thought I wasnt sure if one of them might be playin AhKh or AhJh. This game at commerce was the worst poker I have ever seen at that level, it reminded me of a $25 party table, except with deep stacks, it was quite nice. [/img]
I was under the impression...

I was under the impression that sucking out on other people was more for those who are making you call when it isn't correct to call and then catching the right cards. The way those idiots played that hand, they were just building you a pile of chips. I have to go visit my friend in SOCal.
