omg, that was fun to watch... TW was masterful while i was watching (except the 10 mins in which he lost to piers). he had the table whipped up into a frenzy.

I have to admit to being amazed at how long TW lasted. Aside from being sucked out on three times by some monkey I had a fine time too.

I'd like to do that again in another year or two.

Well, I reckon I should give a bit of a recap.

I started off by meeting the strikester for our challenge match. Within about 5 minutes, it looked like I was making an early exit, but then I won a massive multiway pot with the nutflush, got right back in it, and from there on striker was pretty card screwed. I won the match, and since Piers was there watching, we wound up playing one right afterwards.

That match didn't go quite as well. Piers was quite the cardrack, and I'm pretty sure his stack was over $100 when I busted...but that really didn't have anything to do with him winning. I just pushed a bit too hard on a few of my hands, and also seemed to have issues with running my decent hands into bigger ones. In all fairness though, I should have been able to let go a few of those.

So, all told, I'm now 2-2 on my challenge matches. I've beaten Mecos and Striker, and loss to the powerhouse tagteam of Piers and his ex.

ANYWAY, after my inglorious loss to piers, the night got interesting. Feeling rather drunk and frisky, I decided to buy back in another $50 at the 1/2 table we were at, since a few BtP fellas were around. Eventually we had bobby, annoyed, striker, stealth and I all at the same table, with Kuso watching/harassing me. I was playing the raise/reraise every hand preflop game, and I figure a good 50% of hands got capped. I was a bit proud as I watched the waiting list for the table grow and grow. What's amazing is that I lasted about an hour and a half off of that $50 before eventually going bust when my 72s flopped a flush draw and failed to connect. I may have to post some of the funnier hands a bit later. Especially the one where I had K5 on a 6-6-5 flop...flop and turn both capped, and I sucked out on stealth (who had KK) and some other guy (who had QQ) when I rivered another 5. :D BOY, was he pissed about that one.

It was actually me that had the QQ. Funny thing about that hand was I thought it was heads up until I checked PT this morning. It was a pretty awsome suckout though. That four dollar side pot should have been mine.

That was some fun stuff, but I don't know how often I will lag it up at 1/2. I could easily get drunk enough and drop 300 bucks, and that might make me a bit sick to my stomach. Oh well, in the 20 hands I played I was up $15. Much, much, much better than some of my other drunken rampages

btw, showing down T-high ( ) was one of my favorites... post that hand if you can.

i sure hope you have a rakeback deal... i bet you make some sweet side money if you do.

i think that this ultra-aggro strategy could actually be a big winning one with just a few tweaks. you had people raising and calling you down with complete crap... it seemed like bottom pair weak kicker was golden to some of these folks. it was a sight to see.

please please let me know when you do this again. i found it to be incredibly entertaining. heckling aside, i was impressed with (most of) the way you played TW.

also, is it verboten to mention the challenge in the chat in that it ostensibly lets the cat out of the bag? maybe "is this a TWC?" is adequate?

Definitely was a fun time. Actually, I have done this before, even aside from my challenge matches. It's certainly not the most profitable form of poker, but I think it can be a valuable exercise. It really is amazing to watch how people react to someone who will raise and reraise absolutely every hand. I've seen tight, solid players eventually calling 3 bets cold with 86o in the face of my madness.

Someday, I may try it sober; raising every hand, but actually making a strong effort to play very well postflop. When I'm drunk, well, the preflop craziness rubs off a little too much on my postflop play.

Anyway, like I said, I actually hit up the .5/1 or 1/2 tables fairly frequently when I'm done my actual playing for the day. I generally try to get a game of 20 questions going, just in case raising every single hand isn't enough to loosen up the crowd a bit. :D

Well, I played a big ol' heads-up game with Mecos last night, 1/2 with us each buying in for $80, and in a very unfortunate turn of events, he exacted his revenge by beating me...but not until after about 2 hours and 247 hands of the most hardfought, trash-talkin, mizorly match ever played! The funny thing is that by the time it was over, there was only $63.50 left on the table of the initial $160 we bought with! Fuck the rake. Like he pointed out, neither one of us are really known for making +EV decisions! :D

I really feel I need to post some of the hands, because there were some real beauts! I may do that later. Like the hand I called him down with my queen-ten high...or the string of hands where he kept calling me down with high-cards, and unfortunately winnings...or the hand that I managed to put 4 bets in on the flop with a gutshot, hit the nut straight on the turn, and he made a smaller straight on the river. That hand was particularly hilarious when it turned out my ten-high was actually the best hand on the flop (he was jamming with an openender). Then there were all those hands where I'd flop bottom pair, hit trips, and inevitably get paid off. I guess Mecos was thinking, "Well shit, he can't have done it AGAIN!" Yep, bro, I did it again. But in all fairness, let's not forget the MASSIVE pot, capped on nearly every street, where my K5 and MK's 54 both flopped a 5, turned trips, and ALAS, he rivered his 4 to avoid elimination! Bastard!

Anyway, on the whole it was quite a time, though you can rest assured that vengeance WILL BE MINE!

HAHA! You know you liked my limp/fold strategy!

I definitely think some of those hands should be posted- i dunno though alot of those would be the poker equivalent of being pantsed!

I can think of at least a couple- i remember one where you had 810 soooted, and the board was something like 457J and i had 45, and you capped the turn and caught your 6 on the river! I call GODAWFUL MIZORY on THAT MAN RIGHT THERE!

That 45 hand was a good one though- I also remember one where you had Q2s and rivered your third 2 against my pair of something-or-other--

Or hell, maybe i didnt have a pair but as we were constantly reiterating to each other

'A REAL player wouldve folded that!'

indeed!

And even though we established that +EV behavior is for women and uh...well, men of either the non-straight variety, or of english descent...in other words, non straight variety---right.... we should probly figure our a way to do it so that the winner actually wins. Like do it using play money and the loser ships the winner the actualy money.

PS- speaking of shipment, im going to give you your FT shipment right now before i leave.

Tally ho, you testicle!
