Well since I was involved in the hand I guess I can throw my 2 cents in even though it may not be right.

I generally don't like raising PF bc then you are usually inclined to make a bet at the pot on the flop. But if I do raise it is usually with a wrap like you have. I probably would've made the same moves you did, or I could reraise all in on the flop. If you are going to go to the river with this hand you might as well do it on the flop and possibly but doubtful
get tom to fold (usually he doesn't as he is a stubborn guy that wouldn't know when to fold two pair). You hold the second nut flush draw and so many outs that can help you. I really don't see folding here since tom is being aggressive trying to show at least 2 pair if not maybe a high set.

Ok I do admit, that sounded a little fishy of me. I apologize as I was a little tired at the time I posted and was actually ending my session at that time because I wasn't thinking my hands through properly.

It is actually a good idea, as monk said, to just call the raise on the flop and go from there. If the board pairs you can safely drop it to any kind of bet. 9/10 times I would make this move, while the other time I would swim with the fish and raise.
