NOTES:
-I Limp in EP in 1st round w/ JJ. I don't want to risk too much w/ this hand, but I don't want to steal the blinds either. I want to flop a set or get out. Half the table limps, then the button raises. 2 calls and a bigger raise before me. I think about going all in, but fold.
JJ too risky if I get called. Flop shows A and Q. Good decision.

-2 hands later with Q9o in the BB. Flop QQ3. I bet pot. I want to get out of this with a quick win before someone sticks around to beat me. I get a raise twice my bet. I push triple their bet and they fold.Decent pickup and now I have a little room to work.

-I drop AKu and KQu to preflop raises in the 1st round as well. I'm being tested. Lots of
big pots being contested early.

-I watch KK all-in vs. AQs preflop in 2nd round. WOW, all-in w/ AQs that early? AQs was chip leader, but not anymore after this.

-The former chip leader is gone on the 1st hand of the 3rd round going all-in w/ 99 on a flop of 8AQ. Her problem, not mine. A 3rd player is on their way out and I need to start building my stack before I fall behind, but now I keep getting a steady diet of low, offsuit, gap cards.

-A few hands later they are flying outta here. A7o going all-in? 1 more gone and 2 more on the verge. I'm still getting nothing playable and I'm 5th out of 7 now. Haven't seen a face card since the 1st round.

-Two AQs all-ins later and I am back in it when, at least temporarily when I get called by 43o and flop 2 pair, but almost lose it when he has a wheel draw on the turn. River comes 6 instead of 5 and my computer won't learn how to fly tonight.

-I get [Qs] on the button w/ nobody in front of me. I raise 4x the BB and get called by the BB who has me doubled in chips, actually closer to tripled.

He goes all-in and I have to fold. Now I'm in trouble again.

-I'm dealt [Ts] in the SB, but UG bets big preflop and I have to fold or risk being dominated.

-10 minutes later and nothing but 94 and 63 offsuit and I'm in danger of being blinded off
again. 27 offsuit in the BB, I can't defend.

-But wait a minute Q8 in SB decides to push all-in and steal the BB. One problem. BB has AA and now there are 4, but I'm way behind. J4o in BB. $445 left and nothing. I'm done.

-I can't even find a small suited hand to go in on. The best I get is [6d] in the BB. 2 limpers and we see a 3-way flop.

I didn't know it, but this card let me dead dead as both opponents were drawing to better straights now.

I HATE 4th Place, but there was really nothing I could do about this. I just didn't have the

Wow, I think I played great and was very fortunate to get out of this session only down $20. To anybody who has been reading this journal, the 1st 2 hands should come as no surprise. I want to emphasize that these were the first 2 hands I was dealt and not just the 1st 2 hands that I played.

Great flop, but I want to take it down fast or make the flush draw pay. SB checks, I bet, 1 fold, and LP calls as does SB.
Turn:
So much for that idea. It's always a flush or a straight. I decide to check it figuring that at least the SB has to be on a flush draw or he would have bet the flop if he had an A or a 5 since there was no preflop raiser. It's checked to LP who bets. If SB calls as do I.
River:
SB checks, but somehow I KNOW that if he doesn't have a flush he has the straight. Why do I know this when this is my 1st hand against him? I know because it just seems right the way things are going. I check. LP bets. SB calls and I fold.
Result: -$8 HORRIBLE play you say? SB turns over [2s] for the straight. Like I said, this seems about right.

HAND #2 (I was so aggrivated after this hand that I stopped paying attention for about the next 10 hands.)
-[Jd][9h] in the SB. 5 limpers, I complete and 7 to the flop.

I have a gutshot draw. Normally not good, but I might take one off on the turn for the nuts with this many in the pot. 3 checks, 1 bet, 1 call on the Button, I call with $17.50 in the pot believing correctly that I have implied odds here and they won't see my straight if I hit it. 1 last call and the turn is 4 handed w/ $22 in the pot.

BINGO! I check it though because I want the flop bettor to bet again so I can check-raise. He does, there is a fold and I check-raise. It's back to him and he re-raises, I cap it! I'm bringing home a MONSTER! $54 in the pot.
River:
I don't like this card, but there are only 2 hands that beat me still. AK which I know he doesn't have because he didn't raise preflop and K9 which I also am pretty sure he doesn't have because that would mean that he got into a raising war on the turn w/ nothing, but a gutshot. I bet he raises. WHAT THE ???? I call and he turns over [Ks]
Result: -$28 I know you can say that I was just as lucky hitting my gutshot on the turn, but NO I wasn't. I called on the turn for 1 small bet. He got into a raising war and hit a double gutshot!!! Again this seems just about right.

[Kc] on the button. Let's try this 1 more time. 1 limper in CO and I raise. He is my only caller.

I flop the nut flush draw but don't make it.
Result: -$8 I must be due for one of these.

I take 2 other small pots down with pocket 9's when I keep up the preflop aggression even with 2 overcards on the board and my opponents fold after the turn each time.

In the BB with [Kd] I 3 bet preflop and take down a pot after the turn with pure aggression and no hand at all.
Result: +$16 Now this was tricky because the after 42 hands played the preflop raiser had not raised 1 single hand before this hand. However, he had not gone to the showdown once and his AF was under .4 so I figured that even though he was super tight with his raises, unless he has KK or higher I could probably take it down, especially if an overcard hit to whatever he had and I was right. I think he probably had either Tens or Jacks.

-[As][Kc] on the Button. 3 limpers ahead and I raise. The BB and all 3 limpers call. 5 to the flop.
Flop: [2h][Js]
BB and 1st limper check. 2nd limper bets, called by 3rd, I raise. I still have a strong hand, maybe not the best, but the BB is my most dangerous opponent. The flop bettor and caller have been basically calling and not very aggressive after the flop yet. If I can catch an A or K on the turn they will pay me. SSHE says to protect your hand in this situation (I think) and not fear a check-raise. That goes right out the window as BB check-raises to 3 bets. 2 calls in front of me. I know I'm behind, either 2 pair or a set, but since he is aggressive I would think he would reraise 88 or JJ before the flop, so most likely 2 pair, but there is now over $40 in the pot and I have to call for 1 more small bet to see the turn.
Turn:
BB bets and it is called by both limpers. Now I have only a bad straight draw, but I can't give it up because the pot is now $57, more than enough for my draw.
River:
I know this Ace is no good, but w/ the a $66 pot I have to call. BB shows [8h].

-[As][Jc] in MP. I am the 1st person in so I raise, especially w/ EL from the previous hand in the BB. I want him heads up. A very strong player w/ over 250 hands against flat calls in CO which is not what I wanted.

EL in BB bets, I raise, but CO calls again.
Turn:
BB checks. I have to check even though I know CO will bet and take it even if he doesn't have the Q. I don't think I had any choice there.

HAND #84
-[8s][8d] in the BB. 1 raiser in MP (no read) to me. I call it. 2 on the flop.
Flop: [2c][Qh]
Not a good flop for me, but that doesn't necesarily mean he has me yet. I check the flop, he bets, I check-raise to see where I am. He just calls, so I might be ahead.
Turn: [10c]
I have to lead out here because I check-raised the flop and I can also represent the made straight here, but when he raises me I have to give it up here. There is nothing that he could have raised w/ that I could beat at this point.
Result: -$12 I think the check-raise on the flop was my only play here other than giving it up and that seemed too weak at that point.

-[Ah][Qh] in MP. Person to my left raises (no read), I re-raise and knock out the blinds.
Flop: [6c][Jc]
Raiser bets and I raise. I have nothing here, but by betting I can represent Aces or Kings, plus I have 2 overcards here. I think at worst I will get a free look at the river. 2 chances to pair my overcards.
Turn:
I don't need the river now. I get checked to, bet, and get the fold.
Result: +$14 Finally, my plan worked.

HAND #91
-[Tc][Td] UG. I don't like raising here in loose game because it will usually cost me money. I limp in with this hand. and there are 4 of us to the flop including the Blinds.
Flop: [Th][Js]
YES! My 1st set in almost 2 weeks. (Actually my 2nd, but the last 1 came with 3 of the same suit on the flop and I lost it.) SB bets, BB calls, I raise, and only the Blinds call.
Turn:
Why me? Now I'm in trouble, but I still refuse to believe that somebody has something better every big hand I get. SB bets, BB folds, but I keep up the aggression and raise again, SB calls.
River:
Now I know I'm done. Any 8or Q beats me. SB bets and I have to call it down. He turns over [Jh] for the straight.
Result: -$18 I may have made a mistake preflop, but I don't think it would have mattered anyway. SB was EL from previous hands and probably would have called the raise here. Even raising on the turn with the straight on board was right as I was still ahead at that point, but I just can't avoid that river.

What the heck am I doing wrong? I try to keep up my aggression as I know that's the right thing to do, but it always seems to work against me.

I was the 2nd biggest loser in terms of cash and right and 4th in terms of BB/100 with over 20 hands.
-Out of 27 Ultra Aggressors w/ over 100 hands in my database, 7 are losers and 20 are winners. Of those 7 losers, there is only 1 player with a lower BB/100 than me so I'm still pretty confident that if my bankroll can survive it will turn around, but that is a BIG "if" right now.

Result: -$7 The winner did not belong in that pot past flop, but he got lucky.

Nothing scary here. I bet again and only 1 caller this time (button).

If he has a 7 I'm done, anything else and I win. He hasn't raised me so a I think I'm best. I bet, he calls, but does not show his loser.
Result: +$12 A 7 was the only card I feared here. Nobody raised so I felt pretty confident on the river. Occasionally things work out the way they should.

-[7d][7h] again in SB. 3 limpers and a raise in MP in front of me. I have to figure raise for a powerful hand from that position. I figure limpers are going to call so I will call just to see if I can flop a set for the implied odds if I connect. BB folds and all 3 limpers call.

BINGO! It gets checked to the raiser. (Mistake by me, but it was 3am and I was pretty tired.) He bets, I check-raise, get 1 cold caller and raiser to call.

Again no problem here. I fire and he calls.
Result: +$15.75 Raiser types "I never win w/ rockets." Believe me, I feel your pain. You would think I would feel great about the tables being turned, but I'm actually still a little disturbed that the best hand hardly ever wins. This would benefit someone who plays solid more than waiting to draw out on someone.

Not much to speak of. Went out in 59th place out of 158. Blinds were $150/300 and I was UG with just over $1600 w/ [Qh]. Easy decision to push all-in. Stack leader with pocket Jacks was the only caller. I flopped the nut straight draw which actually made me the favorite, but his Jacks held up.
