Pretty much taken the day off to barbeque some shrimp and steak and drink several cervezas but did manage to put in one hectic hour of 4 tabling the 5-10 6 max games. My gawd there is some atrocious play. That being said I found myself down about 350.00 before I could say bad beat but within the next 30 minutes recouped all that and made a little profit. I think long term that may be the best game for me if I can get my ass in gear to put in sufficient hours each week.

Yeah ive heard thats a great game, the 5-10 6 max. I may even consider playing that for a spell, while i recoup from all my recent losses-- the action at the 10 20 level is definitely not what it was though. Nice to know the 5-10s are still there for me if i need em....

Yeah those 5-10's are hopping. I only managed to get raises and CR's in here preflop, flop and turn but perhaps could have went for the quadrafecta if that damn button hadn't dropped on the turn

Another slow day at the office as I put in a little over 100 hands this morning and spent the rest of the day in Avila National Park just north of the city. It is really a beautiful place. My mother in law had never been so we took her and my sister in law. We took the teleferico which provides a wonderful few of the city, much better at night when you return to see the huge sprawling city with all of the stolen electricity lighting the ranchos in the neighboring hills.

I took a long hike through the hills taking in the wildlife and the little things. When I returned they had the music cranked up with disco, BeeGees, ABBA, Casey and the Sunshine Band, the Pointer Sisters, etc and there were alot of nice young scenary shaking their groove things. Women in Venezuela are on average a couple of notches beyond any place else that I have ever been. They are really a treat. After that was a jazz band performing with some cat that was just nasty on the tenor sax and after that he brought out the flute and hit up some Bolivian mountain music. They were very good. My wife told me the guys name was Victor something or other and that he was probably the most famous jazz musician in Venezuela and he was jamming there in a small grotto with his band for free (at least for us).

So all in all a nice getaway today.

Today found me down about 800 at one point after just getting thrashed at 5-10 short handed. I took some asswhippings there that noone should be required to take but at days end I still managed a small victory.

No but I hurl alot of obscenities into the air at times Alot of those days were very short when I was on vacation with the kids and I would only play a few minutes each night to make a little money and then be done for the day but without a doubt this is the longest streak of days that I have put together without a loss. I think I had a stretch earlier in the year with 40+ days which was probably my second longest ever. It's a pretty strong run but with my style of play I don't run into a lot of bad stretches because I am just not involved in many hands so it is generally pretty tough to get me stuck for much although it does happen. I would like to say that I don't have any weaknesses but I do and that is I play higher than my BR dictates at times and I play lower than I should at times. I take selected shots at bigger games when they look juicy and for the most part these shots have been working out well, it's when they don't that I have had trouble in the past but I have reached a point now that I am quick to leave the game if it turns sour which in the past I was not so disciplined in doing. The other weakness of playing lower than my BR dictates is obviously less of a hazard but I don't fully maximize my earning potential most of the time. Most of this has to do with not having a way to replenish my BR in Venezuela if disaster struck so it has made me overly cautious which I guess is not too bad of a thing but it is something I think about often.
