Personally, I don't raise the turn because it gives your hand away. He now knows what you have, and you have no clue what he has. (Unless, of course, your flush card comes, in which case he will still put you on trips and may be surprised by the nut flush.)

On the river, you have told him that you have trips and he doesn't care. I probably fold.

All just my very humble and still learning opinion (jmvh&slo).

Any read on this guy?

I have a sneaking suspicion he's got 9T, and was making weak semibluffs to keep anyone from betting him out of the pot, but I think I call anyway since I'm getting almost 3-1.

You cant fold. He could have a set the turned into a boat of course but not many people bet from the SB with a set. He could have T9 but I think he wouldve check raised the river.

I think you have him beat enough times to go all in. It does look fishy though.

Think I just call him down here. If he has shown severe fishy or clueless tendencies then I'd reach for the rest of the stack. He might just have the case 4, or a boat made with a set on the flop, but the fact he lead for a bet on the river suggests he's not TOO worried about you holding a 4. Nonetheless, I think you're ahead often enough to call. If he's a party $25NL goon he could have anything and thus an all-in would not be out of the question.

I wouldn't even hesitate calling the river bet. If he has a FH..well..you have to pay him off. He could hold anything in this spot. Espeically on a $25 table.

A decent raise may have been approiate on this flop. You have position on the SB, with a killer draw and a pair. He could be leading out with any number of hands, and a decent raise may win you the pot right there. If that doesn't work, you are building the pot for your monster draw.

Your raise on the turn was correct.

No brainer here you have to make this call, you are getting 3:1 on your money and especially at a party $25 table I would say you win this call half the time. I disagree with K3nt. i dont think you give your hand away by betting harder on the turn. The stregnth of your hand is that you are in the BB you could have almost anything, plus as K3nt said if you do hit the flush on the river it is going to be very hard for your opponant to put you on a flush since you made a stronger bet when the board paired which if you were on a regular flush draw without the 4 would have significantly weakend your hand.

Most people at this level aren't sophisticated enough to bet out with 2-pair or better, plus we can probably rule out 84 and J4 based on the fact that even in the SB, most people simply don't play this trash. Which means the only realistic hands that beat you are T9, JJ, and 88. He probably raises JJ, and like I said I'm 90% sure he would check 88 on the flop. T9 is possible but unless it's [Tc][9c] I don't see him coming out betting TWICE with a straight draw on a flush draw board and then call a turn raise that clearly gives him incorrect odds to draw to 6 outs. He could actually be on a missed flush draw himself and be bluffing the river, although a "value bet" seems more likely with a Jack. I would call and expect to be shown a hand like QJ or JT.

I just called the bet and he had 85 for a monster hand. He's now my friend.

Hmmm.

Doesn't it seem that since he bet out the river after calling the turn bet he must of had a draw or was bluffing? I would have to put him on T9 or a bluff(which means a hand much worse than your trips to me).

I can't imagine letting my opponent who shows strength on the turn off the hook with just a call(looking at it from his perspective). Maybe he thought you were on a bluff because he read somewhere when the smallest card on the flop pairs the board, people try and bluff at it...a weak limit bluff move if I remember.

I have to call here for $9 and if he is really weak, I would be willing to raise.
