Depends on the opponent really. Given your aggressive/maniacal image perhaps it makes it more likely he's put you on a garbage hand/steal and has waited for the turn to spring a play on you. However, it does seem that it's going to cost you a lot of money to find out! I think most likely he has TK. Unless you think this guy is tricky and COULD be making a play on you, or very very bad/LAG, I think perhaps the turn check raise should be the point at which you give up.
