I just spent $911.95 on 2 home plate tickets to the last game of the Red Sox regular season. If that shit don't get me laid............Haham in all seriousness I'm fucking pumped to see them crush the Yankees right before the playoffs. The girl I'm going with is a fan too and has never been to a red sox game, nevermind the last game of the regular season where they happen to be playig the yankees, near home plate to boot, so she's pretty excited.

Hopefully in tommorow's WCOOP $530 Omaha/8 event I can get that back. There is one small problem. I am a dreadful omaha/8 player. I would say aside from stud it is my worst poker game. Oh well. Wish me luck!

Wow. And I thought I was bad at Omaha/8. First hour: Played great and increased my chips a nice chunk. Second hour: played stinky and missed some big draws and found myself with 3 big bets left going into the third hour. Third hour: Played real real good, doubled up, then lost em back, doubled up, lost em back, then my bust out hand.

I have 2.5 big bets at 300/600 (I believe) limits.

There is an early position limper and I raise with AA46 single suited. The guy after my calls two bets cold with AJ66, no joke. Folds around to the limper who calls. The flop is an ugly KQ9. Limper checks and I decide with so few chips, I can't give up on this pot despite the ugly flop so I bet and the cold caller calls again (he has a pair of 6s, where the heck is he going right!?). Early limper folds. Turn card is a 4. I toss out the last of my chips (except 38 of em). Again, he opts to call. The river card is a T. YESSSSSSSSSSS.

Tournament poker is retarded.

That was stupid.

I had planned on taking the rest of the day off as I was a little upset with how the WCOOP event turned out, but I felt pretty calm and focused so I decided to throw in a session of PLO. Hopped on a $400 PLO and $2000 PLO table. There was an overly aggressive guy with a nice stack at the $2000 table and was overplaying some hands. Long story short he flopped top and bottom pair and I flopped a big draw, he bet the pot and I raised the pot, at which point he prolly shoulda just folded but he of course moved in and I called. The turn card made my draw bigger and the river blanked me off. Total for the session? -$2375.86 in under a half hour

Note to self, No 4 digit buy in games and no $30/$60. You are paying the bills with poker and we can't afford to lose the bankroll, yes you technically have the bankroll for $30/$60, although I don't even have the standard bankroll for $2000 PLO so thats double dumb. But when you're playing for a living I should really be more conservative with my bankroll.

No $30/$60. No $1000 or greater buyin PL and NL games.
None.

From now on 600 big bets and 50 buyins is my rule. No breaking that shit, I can't afford to be doing dumb shit like playing $2000 PLO.

After Friday's WCOOP event I'm going to cash everything out and take a week off. I really need to drive home the discipline factor to myself. I'm gonna re-read Barry Greenstein's book for stuff like that, and re-read the Theory of Poker just to resharpen my game. Then I'm gonna come back and give myself hours and a game, none of this play what I want when I want crap. Right now I gotta play drill sargeant with myself.

1 PM - 3 PM

4 tables $10/$20 (6 max)

11 PM - 1 AM

4 tables $10/$20 (6 max)

That will give me approximately 1600 hands a day. At 2 BB/100 I should be able to pull in $640 a day on average. Frankly I don't see a need for me to be making more than that AT ALL right now. There's just no need to risk felting, I can be happy with $640 a day for QUITE a while before I move up. I need to put more structure in my poker life. I'm rambling and nobody is listening, but I feel like this is therapeutic, lol.

Seriously, I'm 19, what in the hell makes me think I need to play higher than a place where I should average $640 a day playing a modest schedule.

Yea I don't wanna be one of those Mike Matusow types. In and out of monmey constantly. Stu Ungar is another. Shit, I'm jewish and so are both of them, seems like my fate is sealed  Believe me, I want to beat $100/$200 as much as the next guy, but I want to do it the right way. As long as I am ready for the $75/$150 mixed game at foxwoods by my 21st birthday, I'll be happy :D

I played an hour long session of $10/$20 (6 max) today and got my balls kicked in again to the tune of a little less than $1500. My hourly rate is down to $133.90! Yikes. Tommorow I have the PLO WCOOP event. Hopefully I can just win that real quick and erase these last few days . Like I said after that I'm gonna take a little break before redepositing. I'm gonna probably deposit on intertops, Remmy said he can track my rake that way, whereas on empire he has no idea how much he is making off of me, lol. He also said he could hook me up with a rakeback, so thats pretty sweet. Hopefully I'll be nice and fresh and I can get back to my winning ways, but in a nicer safer more consistant way.

Yeah you better curtail that gambling streak in you, and you better do it fast. I know cuz I've been there. Right now I'm playing " lousy" 1/2 NL, but I'm making $80 an hour. While you're almost doubling my hourly rate, I have almost no risk of ruin and I'm really enjoying life. I plan on moving up to 2/4 soon. I know I can beat that limit pretty easily, but I just want to be ultra comfortable with my bankroll.

I'll probably move up to 5/10 NL when I have 30k behind me and 2 or 3 months of bills paid in advance. I'm not gonna be Stu Ungar. Hell no.

There's a quote I always think of whenever I have a bad day, maybe it'll help you. Hell, You're a Calvin and Hobbes fan anyway:

"You know Hobbes, even my lucky rocketship underpants didn't help me today."

What? Your below 7bb/100 now?! AND YOU HAVE THE GALL TO CALL YOURSLF A CARD PLAYER, YOU GOAT FUCKING FUCK FUCK BASTARD FUCK?!? Wow, the nerve of you!

IMHO, 3bb/100 is about the maximum sustainable winrate in the 10/20 6 max games- I think anything upwards of 4bb/100 is pretty much impossible over the long term. I think the 2+2ers that play the game feel the same, although its been awhile since i read thier forum...

KennyG that is one of the most ironic things ever. I have 2 away messages on AIM that I put on at night. If I have a good day it is:

"That's the difference between me and the rest of the world! Happiness isn't good enough for me! I demand Euphoria!"

And if I have a bad day it is:

"You know Hobbes, some days even my lucky rocketship underpants don't help."

Both obviously Calvin and Hobbes quotes.
