When i bet the turn, I didn't realize i got 3 calls on the flop. I just thought I got 2. Either way, if I knew that the other guy was such a calling station, I should have slowed down on the turn as he often mini bet anything (which i learned later). Against a non calling station, do you bet the turn? do you fire again on the river?

i think the answer lies in whether they have demonstrated that they will lay down non-nut hands and/or are weak-tight.

just curious, do you have the "fold to ___ bet" stats up when you play? i love these stats -- very useful for these kinds of situations.

I don't use PTO yet. I plan on getting it soon.

Worst thing about that hand Brian was that you were behind from the flop and drawing to an ace, a heart, or the board pairing, which still may not have made you good.

You still had a ton of outs, and I would still have bet the turn for value, but with his mini-wrap, he had you running second in a two-horse race. Of course, if a heart or an ace falls on the river, it's priceless.

Rhetorical question -

Why, if you're prepared to bet a flop whereby if you get called you're almost certain to be less than 50% to win it, do you have such an aversion to raising preflop?

Ask yourself not why you're playing this hand, but exactly why you're avoiding raising in close to 75% of the situations you have in PLO as a matter of course. Are you really convinced your level of inflexibility makes for a good poker player?

Way I'd play this hand - either check, min raise, or max raise preflop, and then take the flop depending on how my opponents played.
Plus, you got called 4 ways on the flop. Your turn bet suggests you believed you're winning; no-one is folding. Thoughts?
