Most of the time I will raise that spot. This guy was crazy agressive post flop so I figured I would just call and CR him on the flop whether I improved or not with what is likely the best hand. Out of position I will just call alot of times with AK or AQ because I play them well post flop in regard to extracting extra bets from then due to deception particularly in full ring games with several callers already in. Alot of folks believe you should raise from the Small or Big Blind all the time with AK but I am just not in that corner as I like to invest the minimum when out of position and make up for it when I do hit and lose the minimum when I whiff which will be 2/3 of the time. This style of play works for me. If I raise preflop into 3 other folks and now there are 8 bets in the pot and it comes Q85 what are you going to do? Lead out into them (what do you do when you get called or raised here??), check and fold to a bet. Being out of position sucks.

Another scenario, you raise the AK into three people and the flop comes KJ5. You lead (9 and change big bets in the pot now), guy with QJ now has the proper odds to draw to his hand so he is making the correct decision by calling here. If you don't raise and same scenario now he is making an incorrect decision but a decision more often than not that he will make incorrectly. By keeping the pot small you are making people make mistakes and everytime they make mistakes in their calls you win. Of course if you raise the pot is larger but for the times you don't win in this situation you have put more money into it as well. The question then lies does the times you miss the flop and the times you hit it and lose make up for the times you win the pot when raising preflop? I am willing to gamble that an excellent post flop player that calls in that situation extracts the same amount as does a person that raises in this situation when all things are considered.

Managed to put in another small session of PLO8 and 36 limit. Had a nice time with the BTP weak tight boys. Caught alot of huge hands preflop, I must have gotten 27o at least 4 times in those 2 hours, and when you get those types of hands it's hard not to come away winner.

Empire 5-10 6 max, 11 hands, 36.00
Empire 3-6 limit, 200 hands, 61.99
PLO8 25, 67 hands, -7.76
Rake: 5.38
Various: 29.97
----------------------------------------------
Total: 125.58
Time: 2h5m

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (8 handed)

Preflop: Hero is CO with [2d], [7c].
4 folds, Hero raises, Button 3-bets, 1 fold, BB caps, Hero calls, Button calls.

Flop: (12.33 SB) [Ac], [3s], [2s] (3 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, Button folds, BB calls.

Turn: (8.16 BB) [8d] (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB folds.

Final Pot: 9.16 BB

Results in white below:
No showdown. Hero wins 9.16 BB.

hahaha Piers, I gotta ask you, did you originally raise 27o just to be cute? I used to do that in No-Limit games with friends.

No there is not alot of cuteness in my game, everything I do is for a reason including raising 27o. My opponent in the Big Blind is pretty much on the weak tight side like myself so I figured he would lay down pretty easily if he called barring him hitting the nuts. It was a very player dependent raise. After the flop the hand pretty much played itself when I flopped the strong bottom pair with a redraw to trips or two pair.

When I play pretty close to perfection and still come out on the negative side that just sucks. Was really in a zone for this early morning session on my reads and maximizing pots but still ended up down 30 some odd dollars due to suckouts and a couple of really good second best hands.

Well a short session of 10-20 limit righted the ship again. Surprisingly loose tables at that limit particularly this early in the day.

Empire/Multi 10-20 limit, 54 hands, 88.00
Empire/Multi 3-6 limit, 485 hands, -38.50

Played a couple late afternoon session with TW and in the second annihilated one table and got crushed on the other but managed to pull out a win nonetheless. One fool was just running over the table with shit. I finally managed to crack him pretty good on a couple of hands before he left but I still felt very much "unsatisfied".

Of course you buy in to a 3/6 game with >5k. Of course you hit the straight, and of course, you tilt the guy in the process.

Dr. Majestyk, I presume?

They were so far behind they were too stupid to fold to the check-3-bet.

Is the 5k buyin to give the idea of being some kind of don't care/high roller image, or could you not be bothered typing '200' in the buyin box?
