I've been playing the $100NL at Party for a while now (not exactly sure since I just had a hard drive issue that took out a chunk of my PB db) but it's a good field to make money in. I'm trying out $200NL and the game seems to be tighter. I also find that there aren't that many longhand tables so I tend to be spending more time waiting for a game. I wonder how it's possible to play 8 tables during certain times of the day.

Results wise I haven't played enough hands to see how fishy it really is. I think I'm even so far. I'm gonna play for a week or so to decide whether to settle on $200NL or go back to $100NL.

As for the future of poker, I'm not too concerned. While some ppl say that poker has reached its peak, it's not like a bubble economy where there will be a mass exodus of players. If anything, the analysts at Party probably put out a picture that was too rosy to begin with in terms of their growth. It will take a long time before there is an actual decline in the poker market.

In the Asian market, there is the mahjong factor which is deeply rooted in most cultures. Penetration of that market will probably rely on the younger generations so that will take more time to develop compared to the west.

Sorry for the updates, I was slacking big time over the weekend. :( On Friday, I played in a home game and cleaned up finishing 1st and 3rd respectively. I played ~1400 hands on Saturday. Within the first 1000 hands I was up a grand. Things were going well. Then all hell broke loose. It all started with getting all-in, on the turn, against a muppet where he had 2 outs to tie, 0 to win. Of course, he hit and split the pot. A few hands later, against this same muppet, I lost my stack with set over set. I also had 2 KK vs AA, against players raising 10%+ pre flop, got all-in both times and lost 2 more stacks. I took a break and didnt come back until Monday. (Not because of the bad luck, just due to my schedule)

Another good day. It started out much like Saturday. Within the first 400 hands I was up $600. Then I lost to another set over set and KK vs AA. De ja vu. Anyways, I was able to recover and finish up almost a grand. I'm slowly pulling my PTBB/100 up to 5. Hopefully by weeks end I'll be there. Really nothing too note worthy today.

My initial goal was 3000 hands per day. Well I've been slacking and have not even approached this number :( Last night I was able to get in almost 3k. I'm hoping I can get 3000 the rest of the week...I need the cash ;)

Yay! I have finally reached 5+PTBB/100 after 35,000+ hands! If it werent for the first 3-4 days of this project, I would be around 6 PTBB/100. Now that I have my game back, things have been going really well. I feel like I am completely dominating the $200 NL game. Three out of the last four days I have made $1K+. And honestfully, I do not feel like I have been getting lucky. During these last 4 days, I have had KK vs AA 6x while only getting AA vs KK 2x. I have had 5 set over set losses while only having 2 set over set wins. I have taken quite a few suckouts as well while obviously not sucking out on anyone.

Now that I have won at 5 PTBB/100 over a sample size of 35k hands, I want to continue to keep my win rate above 5. I actually think 6-6.5 PTBB/100 should be completely possible, but I do not want to get ahead of myself. I need to keep this win rate above 5 until I reach a sample size of 100,000 hands to prove that this is not just a good run of cards.

Wish me luck! :)

Aperfect--nice results man.

Are you using AF Frequency a lot in your play? Just curious. I'm probably going to run some statistical analysis on my DB to help me figure how what's a high or low AF Frequency.

Aperfect,

A few questions for the AF Freq Zen Master:

1) What do you see as the big flaw in the old way of looking at AF that is now fixed? Is it just the correction of the problem of a player who folds all the time looks very aggressive? What are your thoughts when you see a high AF Freq or a low one? Basic interpretation stuff.

2) I assume from your numbers above from your DB that the "Axis" is your number?

Thanks

Tim

FYI from my database which is mostly 6-max

Flop Turn River
LowQuarter 26.4% 31.8% 33.3%
Median 35.3% 42.9% 46.2%
High Quarter 45.1% 52.4% 58.5%

Trodgers 49.5% 53.0% 52.1%

Definition (Low quarter means that 25 percentile or 75% of all other players above it).
